That staircase is GORGEOUS! I am a huge fan of them. What wood was used in building it? I am guessing that it is for a customer or some other place in the home? Unless you love cleaning the hanging crystals ;)
Thanks, construction is not an easy task. Even more so building in the woods where trees and boulders hinder digging every 6" haha. Construction kinda found me as it is my Father's trade. I was just born into it is all.~ Puch Cafe. ~ Do business? feedback ~ Check out my leather company ~

This is an egress window I built from scratch after I was quoted almost $3000 to have one installed. More pictures of the build in the thread bellow. The base stoop was an old upright piano that my grandpa built into a toy box years ago.

use shellac sticks, you can buy a kit with various colors of shellac sticks. it comes with a iron which you melts and smooth the shellac into the dings... It is used in wood refishinging.Okay guys, let's see if you can help me with this. I have an antique bed that's in pretty good condition except for a few small flaws. Looking for some input on how to fix/improve them. There's a big ding at the top right (the right of the bed post), and on the front of the post there's a handful of smaller dings going down, as well as two long scratches - let me know if I need to point them out. What can I do about this?
These pics suck, but I think they show the issues well enough.

you can buy it from this site, just scroll halfway down the page and look for the "burn-in kit"

My first ever project was a pair of 2-way speakers. My own design and whatnot. For $150, they blow away basically anything sold at any Best Buy. Not sure if it counts as woodworking since it involves MDF.

I later put a few coats of clear Shellac on them.

Then I needed some tables to put them on in my living room. All red oak, with the flat surfaces made from cab-grade birch plywood + red oak veneer & red oak trim on the outside. Dimensional stability, yo!
Tapered legs on the planer...pretty easy to do.

I made a squaring jig from MDF scraps to locate things and then glued the braces in.

One finished one. I used Watco Cherry V Danish oil on them.

A year or two later, I decided that I needed some bass to go with my speakers. This sucker hits 15Hz without much trouble.

1" MDF walls with generous bracing and a 4" diameter port.

I had a bunch of Damplifier sound deadening left over from a car install, so I lined the walls with that and the egg-crate foam.

And my last project as of a year or two ago. Reference-level monitors. I built them, and the cosmetics were my choice, but credit for the design goes to John Krutke of Zaph Audio.
