i had a friend his friend's flip an rx8 9 times racing in some canyon in NV. cop showed up and wrote him a reckless. he lawyer'd up and met the guy 5 minutes before court. the laywer basically asked the cop had witness, which he didnt, so everything was dropped.

holy shit. how did that go down? it is really hard to flip an rx8 unless you go off road into an embankment.

This is Virginia. Get a lawyer, or you could end up with jail time and/or a criminal record. Absolutely stupid not to hire a lawyer in these circumstances. You can NOT depend on the officer's good will, and you can depend even less upon the judge's.

Have a hometown friend that lives there and he has lawyer'd up twice to save his record. Spare no expense VA will butt hump you for this!

Technically anytime a car leaves the road it's a reckless driving charge. Technically. I got one for the same thing that Inufayed did, except I took out a stand of 5 mail boxes. Reckless.

Obviously that isn't true, that cop lied to you. Maybe in your county?? You didnt read by CSB in my first post, did you? I was 16 and driving a shitty VW at the time. I knew i was lucky then and feel luckier now.

IIRC anything over 90 is criminal speeding in VA. Had a buddy get stopped for 120 on the freeway in a Dakota R/T and they took him away in handcuffs.

Anything over 80 is reckless speeding, or 15 over the posted limit on interstates, 25 over posted limit on highways/standard roads. They raised the interstates to 70, giving only 10mph until reckless, not 15. Smart. I think 90+ is the go straight to jail magic #.

He was let go. He was sentenced to a weekend in jail by the judge. LOL. He had PS3 and cards and dominos with a bunch of DUIs and no-pay dads.
