Can't fit many air cpu coolers in the air 240 I seriously wish I could have done a noctua dh14 or 15. Mobo was the cheapest Z97 mATX one I found. Didn't want to cheap out on the power supply, this one seemed quality. These prices include sales tax also. I didn't go into this all willy nilly. There's a reason behind every part I chose.

Yep. Outside the case. No GPU hooked up. One stick of ram in the correct slot. CPU installed with stock cooler. Wanted to make sure everything was working before starting with the gpu. Computer turns on, fans spin, no display, computer turns off. This repeats endlessly. The clicking noise made by the psu when it turns off leads me to believe there is a short in the motherboard or something. CPU and pins look fine to my untrained eye. No bent pins at least.

You have the cpu power in right? The two four pins I've seen mashed in wrong before.
Make sure you have it on cardboard or something non conductive too.
If you can maybe find a friend that has extra parts to borrow and try different psu, etc
Does screen you have for sure work? Like splash comes up?1989 BMW 325is | 2019 Ford Ranger FX4willschnitz

^Nice looking build. I am a huge fan of white cases/builds. Always liked that case. Like many of the fractals and bitfenix offerings as well. I second the SSD comment. I'm running 7 machines here... and they ALL have OS's on SSD.
I just did a white/blue build made of leftover parts and an old shit box case I painted white. LOL spent way too much time getting a nice paint job (like 3 weeks) on a $15 case. Also custom length'd and sleeved the power supply (also a $15ish jobbie) wires with white paracord. Also installed custom white power, reset, and HDD indicators. Came out way better than anticipated but still have to sleeve an extension due to a recent hardware change. Not a horrible computer either:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300
Tower CPU cooler (don't remember brand)
Intel GD45id Mobo (it's blue)
8GB misc ram
80GB OCV Vertex SSD
PNY 560ti GPU
I'll post some pics after sleeving the extension."A good memory for quotes combined with a poor memory for attribution can lead to a false sense of originality."
