    -EVGA Hadron Air Mini-ITX Case + 500W 80Plus PSU
    -ASRock H81M-ITX
    -Intel Core i5-4690K
    -8GB 1600MHz
    -PNY 240GB SSD
    -Radeon R9 280

Second ever build and I love the itx case. Nice and sturdy and fits a full size graphics card. All together this put me back about 700.

That's not an AMD card in there...

      Nice build however!

Heh, just grabbed a random photo off the internet to show how tiny it is. Here's a quick shot of the actual machine.

I'll try to get some pictures up sometime, but it's just in a cheap Corsair case, was like $56 but I'm really happy with the features for that price.

Asus z97-pro with Wifi for motherboard

          i7 4790k processor

PNY Quadro K2000 Pro 2gb for GC

          16gb Hyperx Fury for ram

          Samsung Pro 250GB SSD

2x WD 1tb for general storage

EVGA 750W Gold for power supply

27" Samsung and off brand 21" moniter, that's about all that matters.

Real old pic of how it's set up in my dorm room.

          Go here be happy!

            - Mac Mini mid-2009 2.0ghz dual core/4GB RAM w/ Acer 23" monitor
            - MacBook 13" late-2007 (black) 2.2ghz dual core/2GB RAM

Both running Snow Leopard still, I need to upgrade soon but for now these do the job. I used to be into the PC building thing, then I had to get a Mac during a period I was using software to DJ and I was sucked in by how reliable they are and how smooth the interface is compared to Windows. I forget I also have an AMD 3.2ghz quad core PC back in Ohio, I'd ship it out but I just have no use for it, and i just can't stand using Windows anymore.

It has been over a year since I built my budget rig. Most of the parts are used or refurbed. Could use an ssd & a better motherboard.

Damn man, I can't go back to HDD after SSD... 128GB drives are pretty cheap nowadays.

Amazon has some great deals on Samsung 840s right now - under $0.50/GB.

Anyone have suggestions for ram upgrade for a late 2011 MB Pro? 4 just does not cut it for any real use, would like 12-16gb.

Thats what I used for my 2012 MBP. User reviews say it works fine in a 2011 and even recognizes the 1600MHz.

edit: I guess I needed to remove the java 1.7 updater, so we're all good on the TS front.
                              Virtualization is your friend.

I've got a 2012 27" iMac with an i7-3770, 32gb ram, 2GB 680MX, 3TB fusion, and a 256GB Samsung SSD in a TB enclosure. I got tired of loud / hot computers and having been a Linux dude for the past 15 years the transition to OSX was a natural one.

Laptop is a 2010 13" MBP with 8GB ram, 115GB Corsair SSD, and a 1TB hdd in the optical bay.

Also have an ESXi whitebox, but no one gives a shit about that stuff here.
