How insane would it be to get a first gen Porsche Cayenne S or Turbo as an around town car for my wife? I could also see us using it for occasional car camping trips, road trips, picking up car parts, and something for the occasional snow in philly. They're just so cheap for the amount of car you get, and I'm willing to do all the maintenance on it.


I'm not interested in a v6, she won't drive a manual. I've heard the 957 fixes some of the reliability issues of the 955, plus it looks better and the DI engines make more power. I've also heard that the turbo blocks are less prone to cylinder bore scoring. So I'd look for a 957 turbo with PDCC. It seems like I could get something around 100k miles for under $15k. I feel like this would be way more fun than getting a $15k Subaru Outback or something, but also way more risky.

I was watching this get bid up to $14k. Is that all these cost?!? This looked like a SUPER nice, fully loaded, Turbo S, are they really that cheap? What's the catch?!?
