That's why there is always beauty in a mostly stock e30 with an lsd and some 6 year old Ling Longs
Dude I've been feeling this after finishing up my project. The 24V/new bushings/e46 rack/short shifter etc etc etc feels so awesome, yet I almost miss how shitty sloppy the car felt when the engine/trans mounts were merely suggestions, m20 screaming on all 5 cylinders, and the shifter feeling like a wet noodle.
Ps. 2mAn, you still in the PNW? I moved to Seattle last year. Need friends.
Nah, been down in Los Angeles for like 15 years now LOL Where TF have you been?? lol
Depending on where in Seattle you are you should try and revive the Dicks GTG!
You missed The E30 Picnic HOWEVER if you're really bored catch a flight to LA this weekend for SoCal Vintage BMW GTG followed by Best of France & Italy.
I will let you borrow the E30, just fly into LAX and find a place to sleep

Ahh, yes, it's all coming back to me now. I had filed away my r3v memories far too deep. I appreciate the offer - next time I'm in LA, I'm going to take you up on that E30 loaner.
I live in West Seattle, but I wouldn't mind reviving the Dicks GTG. No E30, but I have two E30 era options and something German.
I can't get past the FA. If Toyota had given the GR86 a modern AL block equivalent of their 3S-GE BEAMS I4 it would have been a better car. Flat fours in a 2wd make no sense in the water cooled era, at least in an AWD Subaru the engine being shorter in length suits the AWD setup, but there never has been and probably never will be an AWD BRZ variant. A cheap 4cyl FR does not need two cylinder heads driving the parts count up and making it less serviceable, I4 > H4.
BRZ's and 86's UZ swap like the the chassis was engineered for it. IIRC the FA20 is something like 400lbs and a 3UZ is 420ish. I dont remember off hand who, but there are a couple online places that will sell you whole kits to do the sway for pretty decent pricing as I recall, you still have to source your own UZ though.
Just saying is all
