I'm 6'2" or so, 250-255 and don't really have any "end" weight goal in mind. Ideally i'd like to be at around 220-230 but i'll take what I can get.
My diet has been maintained over the last several months and is somewhat healthy. I go to the gym 6 days a week, with sunday being my off day and cheat day for my diet. My routine typically is focused around heavy weights and low reps, with low weight and higher rep in-between during my rest. I hate cardio, but i typically warm up for about 45min before my gym session. I am at the gym for about 2 hours a night.
I'm not aiming on getting smaller, nor am I looking to get huge. Main focus is just to build strength and hopefully get involved in some weight lifting competitions. I drink probably 1 gallon of water a day, if not more. I've been hovering around 250+/- for quite a while now, so i've stopped checking the scales and focused more on my lifts.320I - under constructionComment

Got serious about cutting back about a month and a half ago. Joined a new, better gym closer to my house. Going to to the gym much more frequently and doing better workouts plus running to and from the gym (1.2 miles each way). Eating a healthier diet, cut out about all of my drinking and excessive eating as well as taking some supplements. Started at 186lbs and 21% body fat 45 days ago. As of yesterday I was at 178.5lbs at 15% body fat. Oh and I'm just under 5' 8". Goal is around or under 10% fat and 165lbs. I was there a year ago, I can get back again. Feeling better every day! :up:91 318is M50 swapped

I am 6', 218 lbs. I was 255 at my max about 3 years ago. I just hit 40 and am on my way down to 175. I focus primarily on diet. I am having trouble with a low-impact exercise regimen. I have destroyed my ACL in the same knee twice, and it is sore and arthritic on medium to high impact exercise. It literally sounds like I'm walking on a box of corn flakes.
My wife lost 85 lbs over 24 months and keeps it off. She says PX90 is too easy for her. FML.'88 325is

I'm 6'1. I usually hover around 190-200. With the new job requiring me to be at a desk a lot, I've been gaining a bit of weight. Last I weighed myself was at 212 pounds. I have terrible eating habits which include eating fast food at almost every meal. It's really difficult to eat healthy for me because I don't like the taste of lettuce, or most vegetables. I had a salad recently and it was actually pretty decent with ranch dressing. I took the chance because it was at a pricey restaurant and it was quite fresh. I also just cut out drinking Mountain Dew and soda. I was up to 4 cans of Mountain Dew a day, it was shameful. I am quite active, I run 2 miles 3 times a week and play community sports (flag football, softball).
I've been a size 34 waist since high school. I just had to buy size 36 pants. I'd like to change my eating habits. Any tips from you picky eaters?

Don't eat fast food or drink pop. Both are TERRIBLE. Some healthy food is an acquired taste, especially if you're used to fried fast foods. Try Subway or something that is atleast somewhat freshly prepared.91 318is M50 swapped

I find that portion control is the hardest thing. If its in front of me, ill finish it. I dring coffee in the morning and water the rest of the day. I just love carbs but try to stay away from it it at all cost! When it comes down to me, its all about control...which I mostly have.
I too have been thinking about P90X...or something like it. THere is this other bloke called scoobyworkout dot com that seams to have some good tips. I just dont have time to workout and I even pay for a gym every month. Sux so I need to watch what I eat to make up for it.Comment

Learn to cook. I'm not a picky eater, but my wife is. I learned to cook from scratch using different methods so we would both enjoy it. It is actually pretty fun and gives me something to do after work to take my mind off the stress.

Same issue. It doesn't help that I telecommute so I keep a lot of fruit in the house. If I get hungry, or still feel hungry after eating, I eat an orange or two. Sometimes apples. Chase it with a glass of water and it will stay with me for a couple of hours.'88 325is

Same for me, 5'8"ish and looking to hit 160 depending on where I want to be muscle wise. I hit 190 around May of last year and decided not to continue the slippery slope. My build was never skinny but having a gf who insisted on eating at fast food/other restaurants every day really took a toll on me (+ a desk job).
I'm at 172 now after getting to and maintaining 176ish (which was actually a huge difference from 190 for me) a month or so after my 190 weigh in.
I mostly use a product called Herbalife (meal replacement/protein shake mix) twice a day and try my best to eat right for dinner. Within the last 2 weeks cutting soda as much as I could out got me already losing a couple lbs. I agree with someone else who said to not worry too much about ALWAYS eating 100% healthy, treat yourself. I go out to lunch a lot of times just to get out of the office. Also, I cut all eating past 8pm.
You don't have to be a freak about eating, just smart. Keep the calories down/protein up and your body will automatically lean out. If you have a soda with a slice of pizza for lunch one day it's probably not a good idea to have fast food for dinner that day. All you do by eating crap food in a day is just slow down the process of losing weight. If you want to lose quick, then be strict! If you are like me, and aren't concerned about how quick you can lose it then have a day where you treat yourself, all it does is cancel out the day or two before where you were actually doing your diet.
EDIT: I forgot to add WATER like mentioned is really important. Stay hydrated.Last edited by tonerrrr; 02-12-2013, 11:37 AM.Comment
