Anyone use back braces or supports whilst working out?
I try not to unless its my heavy days. It's just a crutch any other day. About the only thing I wear support wise is wrist wraps, (have broken both) elbow brace in the winter due to arthritis in my right elbow (broke that twice) and I'm thinking about getting some heavy duty knee sleeves for squats. More to keep the tendons warm, and offer a little support.

That stuff is minimal to a back brace though. you're not going to be able to strap one on every time you have to lift something heavy in life. Train for real life, use it on the big PR day.

Finally hit the milestone I've been dreading in my mind. 2 plate status on the squat on volume day!
225x5x5 after warmup sets. I barely finished em. Pulled an M20 out of an E30 for my 2002 the night before (4.5 hours of labor) so I wasnt exactly "fresh" the next day.

Also notable, 90x5x5 on overhead presses (PR). And sumo deadlifted 260x2 for fun before ATTEMPTING to do my 340x5 conventional deadlift. Needless to say, I could only pull 320x2 by the end of this workout.

Also, here is a GREAT article about squatting to depth, written by a guy with far more training knowledge than any of us.
My travels have led me to many gyms ranging from performance centers for special operations personnel to CrossFit gyms, from storage containers to globo gyms. There is a constant in all of these fa…

Did legs last night....You've done them right when it takes an eternity to walk across the parking lot to your car.

    Squats
    135 - 12x2
    185 - 12x1
    205 - 12x1
    225 - 12x1
    245 - 12x1

Hamstring curls - superset single and double 10x4

    glute presses 225 - 10x4

    extensions - 10x4

I hate that hour after legs, my body is usually very angry, but I feel great today!
