This dude..... Talk about goal body.

The Chinese are like late 90's Chicago Bulls right now in weightlifting. The form is just impeccable.

Whats the benefit over front squats or standard squats? Looks like it would hurt your arm bendy area.

I'm back to being careful again this week, but I've only got about 150 more calories today before I'm at my limit for the day, meaning I'm only about 150 under. Should I still drink my protein powder this evening before bed, so my metabolism keeps burning overnight? A scoop in just water is only about 130 calories, so I wouldn't be in a deficit today.

I'm still trying to lean out/burn fat and get down to about 200 lbs, I was 245 6 months ago.
You originally asked this question. It seems like your thought process and motivation has changed a bit over the last few weeks, has it not? You texted me about it with great interest and then suddenly dumped the idea and moved another direction after a few days. I am NOT irritated at all. Im just making sure you're being honest with yourself and your reasoning and understanding my specific answer to a very specific question. Your goal is not my goal, and vice versa. Im not trying to push you into anything I prefer at all. Im in the minority as far as how and what I do in training...

Im not running keto right now, at all. Im on a "you see it you eat it diet". Eating a shit load actually to repair from the oly trianing. Really how you eat should coincide with how much energy is spent during the day and what kind of recovery time you'll have and goal you want to achieve. So theres not one correct diet as you're finding out.

And honestly I wanna see what your goal is. Its a valid question. Theres no right or wrong to your opinion of what looks good man
    Im just curious.

Lol you're so agitated. I know I didn't get into ketosis. I wasn't trying yet. Yes it was extremely difficult, but have you ever heard of easing into something? Fuck dude, going from eating 200-300g of carbs a day down to 50g or less? That's not easy. Especially when you have a family of 4 that doesn't want or need to eat Keto or Paleo. That results in making separate meals of at least twice a day. Do you have time for that? Do you have money for that? Maybe you single guys do. I know plenty of non-single guys probably do make it work, tho.

I'm not "squirming" away from your advice, it seems like my mistake in the first place was getting advice from someone with a totally different fitness goal than mine. I'm not saying your advice is bad, or that you're wrong, it's just two different methods for two different things. And wanting to see a picture of my goal body so you can see what I find aesthetically pleasing? Are you wanting to see it so you can offer tips and/or advice, or to tell me it's wrong? I'll tell you what I don't need dude, is someone getting this irritated with me over what I should and shouldn't be doing. I know you think I should do Keto. I get it. I don't want to do Keto. It just plain doesn't fit with my lifestyle, work, and family. And don't tell me it's because it's too hard, and I'm weaseling out of it. I'm working damn hard to do what I'm doing, and doing well.

But you're telling me that if I went up to every guy in the gym that looks like what I want to look like, 9/10 of them would tell me that I have to do keto to get there? Not a chance.

I did the low(est) carb thing I could manage for about 3-4 weeks. For 2 of them, I didn't eat over like 75g a day. I lost 3 pounds in less than a week. Then for the next 2 weeks, didn't lose a thing. When I went back to eating in the regular 1k deficit that I was eating before, while still only eating about 150-200g per day, I didn't gain anything back. Not half a pound. In the last 2 weeks, I've been eating the same, and I've lost another 3 pounds.

I'm 208 right now, and only wanting to get to 190. That's only 18 lbs, and there's NO WAY that's going to take 6 months to a year, not when I've lost almost 40 since April. And the first 2 months of that weren't even in the gym. Not only that, it's not like I'm on some kind of deadline to get to my target weight, I'm looking at at least a good 10-12 weeks. No real rush.

PLEASE understand that I'm not just trying to argue with you here, dude. Not at all. There's no harm in debates. But if what I'm doing is working for me, than I don't really see an issue with it. I've had two 45-minute sessions with the personal trainer at the gym, and while he's modified my workouts slightly, he's told me that I'm on the right track to everything I want to get accomplished. Now I'm not saying "I'm only listening to him and not to you". Far from it, I'm taking everything you're saying into account. If there's one bright, shining thing I've learned about the fitness world, it's that there's more conflicting information than any subculture I've ever been a part of, and everyone thinks what they're doing is the only way.
    OMG Josh

You didnt see intense fat loss because YOU DIDNT DO KETO. You did not enter ketosis. Period. You "attempted" to do keto. "Like 75g carbs" is not "I ate exactly 75g carbs". You gotta know your exact macros. Which is the same counting process as what you're currently doing. So really, you have no idea how ketosis is. You havent done it! Thats the part I want you to admit. Im not pushing you into my personal diet or anything. Go read what people that have 10x lean body mass as you and me and see how they eat, and what they do. Almost all of them have a high fat, high protein, low carb diet.

Im just trying to make my point and drive it home. I see what you're doing and saying. But I also see that you are squirming away from my advice because of the difficulty level. I've gone through this with a couple of friends now. All did exactly what you're doing until they reached a point and just dove it and then realized keto aint that hard, especially considering the results from a mere 2 weeks of being in that state. But I 100% agree with what you've said above about sustainable diets and long term goals and reaching them all the same...

Also, post a picture of your goal body. I'm curious as to what you consider to be aesthetically pleasing.

If you eat at 1k calorie deficite, goodbye fat and goodbye muscle gains. You're in noob status right now. Regardless of your #welivethis #zomgmusclepharmdawg hashtags, you are in fact still learning and showing noob gains. And you've made some good improvements. If you took my advice and ran with it, you'd have already reached your goal. Thats what you're not hearing. But its ok, i understand its extremely difficult. Bar none, keto is the fastest way to lose body fat and retain muscle mass. I challenge anyone in here to find information to refute that.

However, 100g of carbs per day will get you there albeit slower. You need cals though. Dont do 1000 calorie deficit. Goodbye gains. Also the idea of becoming massive swole guy body builder LOLcarbs dude overnight like you are talking about doesnt happen. It takes years to be that guy. You just wanna beef up and lose fat. Emhpasis on lose fat. Show a little nut and determination and destroy the body fat. Reach your goal. Then move on to another goal. Thats how it works. If you wanna string out losing 30 lbs over 6 months to a year, fine by me. And still good on you. But my points still remain and are more than valid.

    Anyone here actually do meets?

I competed in my first meet this past weekend and did OKAY. I definitely have a long ways to go, but I have gotten significantly stronger in two months and put on close to 5-8lbs.

    Gym PR's: Squat 435, Paused Bench 225, Deadlift 425

Meet totals in 181 class: Squat 407, Paused Bench 237, Deadlift 463.

I could post some videos, but I would have to upload them. The 463 DL looked like a feather when I pulled it and I missed my 435 squat (really bummed on that)
Damn dude, nice numbers. I'd love to see some videos!

Sidenote on my own personal training. I've all but stopped doing anything that doesnt relate to snatch or clean and jerk. I've been obsessed over it actually. Anyone done a strictly oly program? I pretty much have been doing sets of 5, triples, doubles, and singles every training day. Squat, front squat, overhead squat, push press, military press, pull ups, dips,. And of course, Snatch and clean/jerk. When I reach my maximum clean with jerk, I start cleaning without jerk. Which at the moment i can clean about 200~lbs but can only jerk about 155. :( wtf
