Nah you don't have to disconnect the driveshaft. If your shifter is sloppy, might as well just refresh everything. Aside from the bitch clip, it's not too hard.

so i went about checking them with a jack and giving them a good amount of groping.

they appear to be perfectly fine, no cracking no sign of failure, i can jack the tranny up and the mounts are solid, let it down hard and they dont even move. same with the engine.

About time, took forever but that feeling you have it what I have been setting fire to your ass for. I'm damn proud. No joke, a real happy smile on my face. I remember when I swapped an eta engine the first time. That first fire after lots of hard work never fades. It is a great feeling/rush. Now get it smogged and drive your e30!

You can, but you risk splitting them from the jacking force. Pry bar is the best way.

For your transmission popping it sounds like a a syncro is going. Did you check the fluid level?

Drove it around town with e21 plates.... Damn transmission is giving me issues. It loves to pop out of 1st and 2nd and stay in 2nd sometimes.

Not sure what it is but every time it's gonna pop out if I feel it not Go into gear all the way and put it back to neutral and let the clutch out it makes this terrible THUD sound like you ran over a 2x4 at 20 mph..... No idea what it is, shifter linkage messed up?

It might be something as simple as the oil switch wire got tugged on and it's not making contact any more. But don't drive the car until you figure out what's wrong. Low oil pressure will kill your car REALLY fast.

:D just drove it around the block for the first time in nearly two years, such a different beast then the e21. Best part is all the bushing bits and suspension bits feel like a thousand bucks compared to what the e21 feels like haha!

Inspection light is on tho, and oil light is on too.... Not sure why, hope I didn't overfill it.

Time to switch the plates from the e21 and go get some gas.
