this thread is full of the gheyz
Doesnt change the fact that they are everywhere Mike. IMHO, and I mean this... IMHO, when Ary starts selling reps, it's time to stop buying that style. If you already have them, then whatever. But I cannot tell you how many people have looked at Huff's compomotives recently and said "arent those the compomotive reps that dude in california is selling?".
Sorry, but that's how you know. And cmpos are rarer and cooler (IMHO) than RS's.
And yes, I rocked RS reps for a bit. I did it to see if I could stand spending 1500+ on the real thing. I couldn't. So I got OZ's.

        Kill yourself

And everyone stop talking about the weight of the wheel, you drive an e30. If your #1 goal is to go as fast as possible, then there better places to start than an e30. Seriously there are cars that are better at everything.
Whenever you see a clean e30 with clean bbs wheels, know its fashion statement.
I want a nice set of smoked MHW's (I know, get it line)

$1000 set of wheels is expensive?

I think OP and kind are forgetting the craftsmanship and general rarity/exclusivity at original release let alone 30 years of vintage these wheels embody.

Find me a good set of 16s at a grand to my front door. Please. You find me a set 7 to 8 inches non staggered, with the right lug pattern, color, and offset, not only will i buy them, I will paypal you 50 bucks. NAY a c-note.
you're on a heap of crack.
As far as "exclusivity" that's out the window today. BBS will build anything for the right money.
You want a cool set of well made bbs wheels? RK's or CH's. Then you dont look like a teenager and you get a light wheel with a heap of quality.

It's basic supply and demand. As long as there's more buyers than sellers, the price will go/stay up.

I suppose I like them, especially with gold centers on a red car.

I agree about them being played out. Two guys at my work are running them - one paid $1200 for a set to run on his Plymouth Conquest , and the other on his slammed B5 S4. They're both 5x120 so I guess they felt they're worth buying adapters for, too. I kind of want them for my e36, but for some reason I prefer my mesh wheels as one piece...

They are heavy, bend easily (compared to purpose built cast wheels), almost never fit any kind of BBK without spacers.
well if that's the way you guys are looking at it, damn, why are we driving almost 30 year old cars when diesel Audis are faster....

keep the hate rolling. This is almost as good as the "325i is better than the M3 with 500 dollars worth of mods" threads that pop up all the time.

ohhh, and someone is making a cheap copy of a wheel, now everyone should throw the originals away because BBS is old news.....

keep telling yourself whatever you want, BBS RS, Hartge , and AC Schnitzer 3 piecewheels are the best looking wheels hands down, but everyone has their own preference.

I love RSs, but as a PERFORMANCE WHEEL, they fail miserably compared to what is offered today. They make a fantastic, period correct street wheel.

No shit there are better track performance wheels. If you are driving an E30 with $3000 wheels then you are not trying to have the latest high performance car.

It's an E30, any new car is probably going to be faster then it, if you want more performance and are just an old grumpy boring guy then just buy a new car.

Then buy new Performance wheels every year and in 25 years you can bitch about how all the wheels in 2013 were heavy crap and you don't know why any one would put them on their car.

What? Please reread my post where there was obviously a question mark behind my first statement.

It struck me as silly that people think $1000 wheels are pricey.

RK are indeed super light and probably my favorite BBS contemporary design especially multi piece RK II, Im not so keen on the CH but they are far from the only BBS worth having.

Who's smoking crack now? And you imply that only teenagers rock BBS RS? Are you serious?

Fail miserably? They are comparatively light (more so with the right components) and FULLY customizable to the desired width and often diameter the owner desires. Not to mention all the more "bling" associated parts that can be had for BBS RS. Are you seriously suggesting that turbofan BBS RS on 70's p-cars were aesthetic only?

I agree, any more the vast majority of people just build up shiny BBS that see no performance driving and that is fine, but just because that is where the 'scene' is right now doesn't mean the wheels or their manufacturer deserve the same stigma.
