It was an attempt at something different, but I agree that it went too far. Its a social and cultural taboo to portray suicide in this kind of a context. They might as well have done a commercial around a rape, or physical child abuse or neglect. These all just conjure up disgust and would do little to engender appeal to a product.

You're implying nudity is more offensive than making light of suicide/death? This is what's wrong with American media.

Personally the ad doesn't bother me, but I can see how it could irk someone who's dealt first hand with a situation like this. I'm also half expecting some dimwit children to try this with mommy's car because they saw it on TV.

I can definitely agree with this, as even our rating system proves. Loot, kill, and plunder all day, but show some skin may god have mercy on you.

Come to think of it though, a large portion of human history shows this same pattern.
