Well Filming of the police doing their job from a distance on public ROW or Property is 100% legal. Most cops dont like being filmed doing their job, and will try and strong arm you into stopping and even demand to witness your delete the files if you "dont want be jailed" on some BS charge. SO if you knuckle under to them and comply when you were doing nothing illegal in the 1st place, You tell me where we are living when the agents of the state can act like this and get away with it time and time again.
This dude was held over night on "SUSPICION of obstruction of justice and was released at 5 a.m. the next morning. From what I have found NO CHARGES WERE ACTUALLY FILED. So he gets a night in Jail and a dead dog for filming the police and playing some music over a block away. What about all the other cars that drive around with stereos that you can hear from a 1/2 mile off. Why were the police not chasing down those cars for obstruction and interfering with a police operation???
Because this guy was filming a the barricade line the police set up of a SWAT team dealing with a robbery. Questionable behavior from a guy with a bit of a history with the local L/E and asking for trouble? YES................... Illegal MOST DEFIANTLY NOT...... deserve to be tossed in jail for the night on some trumped up charge, and have to deal with watching them kill your dog FUCK NO....
Yes cops have to deal with the dregs of society, and that can get to you. But in being a cop there is no way in this day and age you DIDN"T KNOW WHAT YOU WERE GETTING YOUR SELF INTO. Police have a higher standard to be held to, especially those that deal with the public, I am not guilty of a crime just for walking around at 2am, I am not guilty of a crime just for driving though, I am not guilty of a crime for taking pictures of buildings or cops doing their job. I, you an everyone else is INNOCENT until proven guilty........ Something that has been lost in the translation in the last 30 years of just doing their job. The L/E agents of all aspects are becoming the protected class, and their methodology is getting more and more ruthless as so are their fuck ups
While I can agree with F4 there that its ultimately the idiots fault for his dog getting shot by putting himself and his animal in a position where this could happen, it most certainly should never have happened and the police should not have been messing with a citizen doing nothing wrong like they were.
