Levi's and American Eagle are my "DD" jeans, I pull out the dark Express jeans when I go out. Express does 40% off sales several times a year, that's when I load up on their stuff.

I can't recall ever spending over $30 on jeans. Or $20 on a shirt. Actually, most of my shirts are in the $5-$10 range. I don't even know what brand/fitment/stance the jeans I'm currently wearing are. Whatever Sears had on sale 2 years ago probably.
I just don't participate in the whole fashion thing.

bingo.
I used to...more important things in life, but there's absolutely nothing wrong with someone faining interest in it.
hell, I used to be VERY brand name aware and only bought brand name stuff for myself.
having a child in your life absolutely changed this.
I wouldn't hesitate to drop $75+ on a pair of jeans...now i'll just heat to Winners/Target/JCP etc and buy whatever fits nicely.
at one point I was spending $100+ on a pair of "Silver" or "CK" jeans...
just dumb.

I just wear Diesel jeans. Best quality pair of jeans I've ever had - they are tough and hold up the test of time. I like the viker (slimmer cut) and larkee (more relaxed) and have them in a variety of washes.
Best pair I've ever owned were the softest jeans ever made by William Rast a few years back. They were unfortunately stolen out of my car; I guess someone else thought they were nice too.1988 325 Lachs Sedan SOLD
