AE86 is more like a slower 318iS. M3 is on another level.

The Beta was alleged to be one of the best handling FWD chassis (similar to an Alfetta) with a serious early rust problem. Lancia fixed it in the later cars, and recalled the early ones (at least in the UK) which was a serious SNAFU for them and killed the cars reputation.

They were sold in the US, just at the tail end of Lancias/FIATs/Alfas time in the US. Most frequently you will see Zagatos for sale stateside if you see them at all.

As a matter of fact there is one for sale near you. http://cnj.craigslist.org/cto/4194169077.html

Its crusty, but I can't say its totally dead. It is made of recycled Italian steel so the odds of rust are better than average. Better call International Autoparts to place a big order to make it road worthy.

Plus I haven't' seen a Delta on a road since I left Italy 2003 I can see an E30 at least once a week where I am

admit it or not... these cars with the intercooled turbo, 5-speed, and lsd outhandle stock e30's any day of the week.

also waaay faster than stock e30s.

heavy, but the suspension & body is soo well balanced that it's cray cray.

i see most people are offering up euro's or performance oriented jap cars...but what about a bullet-proof 90's grocery getter?

I humbly submit the 1990 Honda Accord. I've had one since i was 15 and have beat the shit out of it damn near every day. Not only is it uber reliable but with a few proper suspension mods it can be a very capable pseudo sports car. no really...

I've done full-coilovers with 15-way dampers, SPC camber correcting ball-joints front and SPC camber adjusting rear upper arms, poly bushings all around and a Progress 22mm rear sway bar (which all but negates any understeer). With just those simple suspension mods and some 17x7 RH Evo C2's wrapped in Kumho Ecsta AST this car handles VERY well. With better rubber even more so...

Anyway, just thought i'd make a case for my beater Honda. Doesn't take much to make it a fun little car, plus it'll run FOREVER. (316k miles and counting...original motor and trans)

^^ But for all that money to make it handle well you could buy an average e30 and it'll do well out of the box.

Sina....those 505s are growing on me damnit....

true, but Honda parts are cheap. what is listed adds up to maybe 1.5k and with those mods the handling potential is beyond that of a bone stock e30. just sayin' the CB7 chassis has potential.

ahh the cb7. only thing I like about it was the teal dash lights on and that undeniable feeling of riding in a "fast n furious 90s hot rod".

I took one for a spin a couple years ago. Its a shame they're front wheel drive, they sound absolutely amazing! You can find them around, Lancia is a standard weekly craigslist search for me and I see them pop up in my home town from time to time
