I live in california and the women here are pretty smart .................well they can be LOL. California is opposite to the rest of the union. In the south of the USA you get women who go mudding and know how to party. Wile in california the more north you go you get women who like to go mudding and know how to party. Call california the opposite state lol. If its legal in the rest of the usa its illegal here. north is south and you can buy your guns wile we cant. but hey the scenery is great lots of hot women and we have Hollywood. ..........yet id still rather live in a different state the politics here suck so bad that it out weighs all that good.

Food for thought. Most of the performance parts you get for some reason are sold and made in californa. at least for muscle cars that use a gallon per mile and spit more smog than anything. but california has the strictest smog laws next to new york WTF.

Why do you live in the desert? I've been a few places and to me it all came down to the weather. The weather stays nice all year round here and the closer you are to the ocean the cooler it is so it never gets too hot or too cold. IMO, the good outweighs the "bad." Shitty car laws ...sure but people (myself included) still manage to have highly modded cars. It may seem like a hassle for the smog free states/counties but it's not a big deal. It's the price we pay for living here. There's a reason your county is smog free.

All depends on ones perspective. I was born and bred in Los Angeles Harbor Area and home is home. Almost moved to CO at one point but felt it wasn't for me. There's a reason why most people in CA come from other places and I'm not talking about the gold rush. The weather is perfect. It allows us to have mostly rust free cars and we can enjoy them all year round unlike most other places. Can you put a dollar amount on that? Can't miss what you never had but to me that's priceless and the state knows it. That's part of why property values are the way they are here. The question is...can you hustle enough to be able to afford it all? If none of this matters to you, then it makes more sense to live elsewhere as cost of living is high here. In the end, you must do what's best for you.

complaining about smog laws in CA.. none of you had ever been to LA 20 years ago and experienced the pollution. There are still bad days, but it's way better now than it was then.

if you don't want pollution laws move to China, where it's so bad some days you can't see even 100 feet in front of you.

Agree with Nando. Smog laws are a small price to pay to keep this place from becoming gross like Beijing...or Houston.

You live where the stuff you like is. Personally, I dig being able to drive a rust-free car in perfect weather up windy roads into incredible mountain ranges or out to some of the most beautiful coast in the world. I like the fact that I can eat the best Korean, Chinese, and Mexican food in the country in the space of a few hours. I like the fact that there's literally always something to do. All that stuff, to me, is worth having to dick around with smog every couple years.

I don't get the hate for California or the West Coast. No one's forcing you to move or live here. There are plenty of other states out there where you can do whatever you want with guns, pollute to your heart's content, eat at chain restaurants, and be with "real" people. As a bonus, they're a lot cheaper, too!

All the hate just makes folks outside the West Coast look jealous...

Hey monkeyodeath, my hate comes from spending the first 27 years of my life within the confines of "SoCal". So, it's not jealous, or being a hater, it's having been there and seeing the greener grass elsewhere.

I have earned the right to talk ALL the shit I want about killaCali.

The only thing I miss is all the bitches with dem tittays hanging out.

You obviously have never been to Houston or anywhere near it. I live in houston and a rural town 2 hours away, and unless All of Texas is a smog sh*t hole I am pretty sure you are making a baseless comparison (i.e. blowing smoke out your as*).

MOST (not all) people live where they were raised (more accurately where their parents are located). People just "like" what they are accustomed to.

You just described almost every major city in the US, with the exception of one aspect which is limited (coastline) & rust. Also Houston and surrounding sprawl...

All the "hate" probably stems from the far extreme left your politicians exhibit. Just like in my state people hate on the extreme right (with good reason). It is not about leaning one way or the other, it is the assbackwards little laws that make no sense (see OPs original problem).

                              This.

put the car on the smog machine, takes a look here and there. thats it.

he can clearly see the KA motors intake with its giant carbon fiber looking cylinder and its pipe that leads to the front of the car.

doesn't even test my gas gap because his machine doesn't support my style of cap.

theres a million smog shops in SJ, they know that if they are too strict the shop next door will take all the customers.

Of note, I have found Southern California to be tougher on emissions modifications than Northern California.
