    Favorite classic video game

The Metal Gear thread made me think back to all the games I enjoyed playing when I was a carefree youngen... Here are my top three.

The King's Quest series was one of the best puzzle games of it's time. I probably spent $100 on their 1-900 tip line by the time I finished the game, with my parent's permission of course. Yeah, before the interwebs.

Not the best NES game of all time, but one that I probably played the longest. Both Zelda's were right up there also.

Blew my mind, I loved this game so much I read all of the fiction novels of the same name on a family road trip.

What are your favorite classic vidja games?

I played ExciteBike a while back. I remembered how much I loved it. Once I revisited it, I realized how easily impressed and amused I was at the time.

we played Wolfenstein 3D on the computers in my middle school. Some kid brought in his stack of 5.5" floppy disks and we all copied it. yeah I'm old.. also there's no way in hell you could do that today.

back in like 1985 we played the original Oregon Trail on our color Apple. yeah.. the school only had one. :p

Mine are mostly Nintendo 64 related.
        1. Super smash bros (N64)
        2. Donkey kong (n64)
        3. Zelda Ocarina of time (n64)

Also played "Doom" until "Shadow Warrior" came about on PC

YES! My dad had King's Quest and I played it when I was around 5ish.
          I played this non-stop as a kid.

I know it's not a "classic" videogame, but it's on the original xbox and it's still to this day my favorite videogame.

LOL in 1995 my school had Oregon Trail......on the green screens.

I remember getting the first color computer at school.....Ski Free was the shit. Then finally we got all color computers and color Oregon Trail.

Mind = blown at that point.

Also had the game on a floppy called Scorched Earth It was really cool.

Granted I'm only 20, my choices don't go too far back.

              -Earthworm Jim for Super Nintendo
              -Mega Man for Super Nintendo
              -Mario Cart for N64

Thinking of them makes me really want to play the first two again

do N64 games count? If they do Mario Kart and Super Smash Bros are 1 and 2.

I hated that game. FPS with a controller = fail.

For PC it has to be Winroids. Midi sound, progressive difficulty, no full screen and 16 bit in its final iteration.

For Genesis it's a toss up between Rock n' Roll Racin' and Desert Strike.

Is PlayStation old school enough? If so mine would be Legend of Legaia hands down.
