I've never had the chance to drive (much less sit in) a BRZ/FRS, but on paper they sound great. The smattering of reviews on YouTube all seem to echo the 'needs more power' shortcoming. I have read online that when they do a mid-cycle refresh for this car a power bump of some kind could be realized. But nothing beyond that has been clarified....so take it for what it's worth.

A company called Jackson Racing has developed a supercharger kit, complete with CARB certification (for all you Calif peeps) that delivers 50% more horsepower and 45% more torque. The tune-it-yourself kit is $4K and the factory tuned kit is $5K. More info in the link below.....

I'm confused why it needs more power?

am i the only one that thinks these look terrible? really not a fan of the styling but they are a hoot to drive. power level is on point. just enough to have fun. just don't want to be seen in one...

Because people have been spoiled with every day sedans that have 350hp, and supercars which now have quad-digit figures.

This car hit the nail on the head with good handling and balance. Street light to street light it may seem like it needs more, but around smaller tracks this thing is on point.

Because the average driver only knows "Wow it go farst when I mash da gazz!!!"
