Thanks man! It's definitely exciting. I can't wait to hit the coast.

I know right? It's been looming all day and I'm very thankful for the employee there who helped me out huge today.

This trip looks awesome! It's been really cool to read about how everything has come together. Congrats on making it.

Have you been concerned about your bikes getting stolen? Did you lock them to the roof rack somehow?

Nice ocean view. The NAPA employee should get a nice letter sent to corporate. I mean in the middle of "nowhere" and you find parts, pool and good people. Right!

Just do it. As dumb as it sounds, you do only live once. Enjoy it while you can.

                      .

The bikes always came into my hotel or where I was staying. Combined they're easily worth more than my car. Haha

I'm going to leave them a hell of a yelp review and email them directly. He was a life saver. The tow driver will get the same. Good people deserve recognition.

to be fair st george is not really "the middle of nowhere" but it's still awesome that they helped you out so well.

I rarely read posts like this and now I know why! This makes me want to take some days off and take a road trip. Middle of summer, no ac, and at best the company of a good friend who shares my lack of concern over no climate control.

Yeah your making this harder and harder to keep my GF supportive of my impractical cars.

I broke down just before the big gorge you drive through towards the desert, 25 miles or so. it was far enough for me to feel completely alone and had little cell phone service.

                                Finally got my computer setup.

I was shooting to leave St George around 4 am but I woke up around 230 wide awake so I figured why wait? Loaded my bikes, emptied my room, checked out and hit the road. It was totally pitch black once I hit the desert. So many stars, it was hard to imagine.

I came into Vegas around 4am, you could see the light from like 50 miles away ( see above picture)

I stopped to get gas on an exit I probably shouldn't have. Super sketchy people, smelled like garbage and was so gross. I got out of there in a hurry. Thought about driving the strip but decided against it, Vegas doesn't really excite me at all.

                                Close enough

By the time I hit the other side the sun had started to rise and I was treated with some great views over the mountains.

At some point I hit the California state line without knowing it. The desert was pretty awesome in the early morning. Doubt if I'd want to be here in the heat and intense sun though.

                                Pulled over for a picture

                                Following my own shadow.

After a whole lot of this...

I started coming out of the mountains and into the city limits.

Didn't bother with my phone since I hit the city in time for morning rushhour. Made it to Long Beach and the first car I see off the exit is another E30. Older guy driving gave me a honk and a thumbs up.

Hit the beach for a picture

And made it to my friend's place where I'm staying till I find my own apartment.

And here I am. It's an odd feeling. Once I stopped I felt like I should just keep driving, but I'll get to do it all over again in my e34 soon. That should be a more pleasant, but boring. Cool, comfortable, A/C, automatic won't provide the same experience as my E30.
