The Official *Things that piss you off* thread

I hate being within 2-3 lanes of a freeway entrance because inevitably someone will be getting on pretty slow and the people stuck behind them will start overtaking as soon as possible without looking, but instead of blasting up to 80mph to match the speed of traffic they just float on over into the faster moving traffic, cutting people off in the process, and they tootle along AT THE SAME FUCKING SPEED as the first person they were behind!!! Each person in line can't stand to be behind someone so they all go to pass but they never fucking finish the pass, so they start to stack toward the fast lane at 15 mph under, creating a rolling roadblock, making us all hit the brakes when we shouldn't need to. This has happened almost every time I drive, I'm usually in lane 2 of 3 or 4 and people cut across 2 or 3 lanes to go slow in front of me.

This happened again yesterday with someone in a Crv passing a Prius, worst combo ever, so I overtake on the left at a reasonable speed and I look in the rear view and the lady is clapping furiously like I did something wrong and I'm the asshole. I slow down and give here a real shit eating grin and she's still clapping, then I safely get off at my exit.

I remember just 5-7 years back, people saw you coming, they would move over before you had to reset your cruise control.

Now it seems very VERY few people will move over even if you're coming up at 90-100. You slow down, you flash them to get over (a normal practice in European countries) and they get pissed off and flip you off and become aggressive yet they would rather die than move. It doesn't matter how fast someone is going above the speed limit, you should only pass on the left or be going at a speed at which you are constantly passing. I feel like there needs to be a nationwide news bulletin. I really feel like far too many people who are not young drivers do this. They have no excuse to not know this law.

Allow faster traffic to pass you, it's not a game or reason to start road rage. It's the law.
In my opinion, Arizona drivers are by far the worst drivers I've experience. This includes Ohio drivers. It seems whenever they come near an overpass they have to slow down, when it starts sprinkling they have to slow down, if a cop has pulled over someone EVERYONE has to stop to see who the "perp" is. If there's an accident everyone freaks out and goes full retard not knowing what to do. Fuck Arizona drivers!:hitler::hitler:

can you tell I don't like working UNDER the car? lol

until than, I shall sit at work just pinning about getting to it and the relief I'll feel once it's loosened lol

    side note...throw it away?

I won't be using the front part of this DS anymore, but I don't know about throwing it away altogether...
just toss that shit. most cars dont even have it. we threw the damper away from my son's car. it goes down the highway nice and smooth. make sure that both halves of your ds are balanced together and that the alignment marks are lined up and you should be just fine.

Flyboy lost me a bit on the wrench set he used but I got my breaker bar to fit under the car well enough to break the initial torque. You only need to get 1/16 of a turn and you've won.
What Flyboy describes is effectively constructing a long bar. Leverage. Patiently fitting the tools well enough to absorb your cold deadly rage and your lever is what's needed. Nuts are always looser than bolts, and once you've defeated a couple of fasteners on a coupling the rest will admit defeat.
i've had to take a couple apart with the dampener and iirc, there isn't room to get a socket in there with those. i think thats why i had to use combination wrenches. the cars with no dampener came apart with the breaker.

by the way, the dampener is an interference fit on the driveshaft. once you get it apart, you can tap it off with a hammer and throw it away.

You are thinking of Archimedes and this quote translated to from greek of course.. "Give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move the world"

When you take your truck to line-x people for a spray in liner. You tell them no less than 7 times UNDER THE FUCKING RAIL. When you go to pick up your truck, there is bed liner sprayed 2in down OVER THE FUCKING RAIL.....................

I just ordered new moldings, trim and badges to clean up the old crap thats going to shit. Now I have to deal with bed liner all over the side of my truck and somehow figuring out how to make it look presentable

Courtesy Flush when someone enters the stall next to you. As the toilet flushes it does 2 things that are favorable. Removes some , but not all of the stench of your bombing run and also allows one to blast out another round as the toilet flushing sounds will mask 80-90 percent of the blast into the bowl. Time it right and it works real well. One should immediately refocus on the sounds of the water swirling through the bowl, upper tank, and pipes and not concentrate on the other party entering the adjacent stall.

Then after another round of bombs - courtesy flush and refocus again.
After all it is a courtesy and you dont really need to be concerned with water conservation when taking care of your "business"

On the Harmonic Balancer issue -

    - Soak the bolts and nuts in PB blaster. It has a capilary action that will wick the lubricating fluids down into the threads. Then use the double wrench technique mentioned above as a person much more intelligent than I once said ,"With enough leverage you can move the world"

Thread is kinda taking a positive turn here as we offer helpful tips about shitting and loosening frozen fasteners. Is this still R3v? Get back to complaining folks!
