Fuck physics, I'd like to see co-efficient of drag slow my 600hp plus fantasy e30 down, but oes noes the wind noise is horrible!!! Please. Leave it up to someone named "chuckybob" with a big ass chicken for their avatar to bring up drag co-efficient, and therefore defend the corvette. Hick.

Kinda funny that you bring that up because even with 2 more cylindars and more hp, an m5 would be left in the dust by a new Z. Most old guys own vettes because they were the supercar of the 50's and 60's. Every teenage hotrodder at the time drooled over corvettes. Now that they are all grown up they decide to buy one and baby it, I really dont see anything wrong with that. When I am older and have some extra dough I will be buying a vette. My e30 will probably be rusting in a junk yard at that time.Originally posted by motorprestigeMaybe no one understands me? If 'vette owners are "sheep" for categorizing you as a prick because you drive a BMW, what exactly are you doing calling everybody who drives a 'vette a hick? I think everybody understands you better than you think. Let me congratulate you on fulfilling the typical BMW owner stereotype.
"Pushrods and leafsprings". That's a really good point man. You can't argue with that exuse. I mean, since the corvette engine is lighter and uses less gas than any other production engine in the 500hp class and handles its way into a sub-8 minute nurburgring lap time, I guess they really should have done their homework. I mean, WHAT WERE THEY THINKING putting truck suspension in a track car. I guess they should have called you first.
Now I'm not a lover of American cars. Generally, they are heavy and dismal in the twisties. But I will give credit where it's due, and the z06 deserves it. As a balls-out track car it is unsurpassed. And in my opinion, it looks stunning.
All I see is somebody who has an irrational hate for American cars. That's fine, but next time maybe just say "i dont like corvettes" and leave it at that. Don't try and make exuses, because P.S. The z06 is untouchable.

It's funny most "vette owners" are anything but sheep. It's like M3 owners.... A percentage of them are douche bags. Just like Vette owners. My parents own a corvette as their "track car" are they hicks? Well lets see, my dad retired two years ago and plays golf and fucks around. My mom is an exec. for The Home Depot, working on her 25 year badge. Don't make blanket statements about "sheep". We live in the same area..... I'd venture to say that Nor Cal is full to the brim with "sheep", and because you don't like american cars (for whatever reason) you seem to think of yourself as an original thinker. I respect your opinion, I really do, I myself will preach foreign cars over american cars all day. It hurts me to do so because america is failing alot of things right now and I believe alot has to do with buying foreign goods and services, but come on all vette owners are hicks???? Pretty big blanket statement from you there, where have you lived besides Ca to back this info up?Yours truly,
Rich

I don't ever want to see that happen to my, or any e30. I am just taking the majority of corvette owners into consideration here, most of them know hardly anything about automotive mechanics, most of them are "one upper" blowhards, and most of them keep the ignorant hick steriotype alive by driving like complete jack asses, just as the video you all watched demonstrates.Originally posted by h0lmesKinda funny that you bring that up because even with 2 more cylindars and more hp, an m5 would be left in the dust by a new Z. No, not necessarily, you can call it a blanket statement if you wish but you can't deny the fact that stereotypes are created for a reason. It's simple really, I say the majority of corvette drivers are hicks because the majority of people i know that own them, or see drive them, are in my oppinion, hicks. The obscure few that actually change their own oil do not fall into my "hick" category, so therefore my statement does not apply to them. I don't think of myself as an original thinker, humans are pretty much all the same, we are all products of our own environment. Like i said: I like what I like, and I do what I like with things that I like. Please do not nitpick my postings looking for reasons to "one up" me, or else you fall into my category. I appreciate the fact that you respect my opinion, and I agree with your opinion of northern california being full of sheep, in fact, the entire world is full of sheep, it's our human nature to conform without rationality, so i strive to be a shepherd, and in order to do that you have to cast away your human nature. I never said it wasn't fast, I just said I didn't like it. You are taking this alot further than it needs to be taken. You don't have to respect my opinion, or understand my hatred, wich is far from blind, I have my reasons for hating american cars, and ways... but we won't go into that. I agree that most BMW owners are pricks, I for one, am not, but I would rather be called a prick by people who don't know me, than a hick by people who don't even have to in order to know i am. I understand them well, corvette owners, there isn't much to them, and I dislike them for that. You can argue with my reasons, but just know, you know nothing i don't. When i look at you through your internet persona, all i see is someone trying to gain popualrity amongst his peers by attempting to belittle me with information and facts that i already know. I congratualte you on fulfilling the "one upper" stereotype.Originally posted by Jordan325iCMaybe nobody (you) understands corvette owners?

Man, I hope I'm not "one upping" you by disagreeing with you, but do you know all the corvette owners? Furthermore, do you really think understand the character and intellegence of tens of thousands of people you have never met or had any contact with? I'm fully aware that I don't know anything you don't, which is exactly why I don't dole out blanket judgements from my ignorance.Originally posted by motorprestigeI agree that most BMW owners are pricks, I for one, am not, but I would rather be called a prick by people who don't know me, than a hick by people who don't even have to in order to know i am. I suspect you have met a couple of corvette owners, filed them away under your vast definition of "hicks", and have ever since then just been reinforcing that stereotype with every new experience you have with them (perhaps affected by some prejudice from your self-proclaimed "hatred" of all American cars?).
Now, I've got to admit I only personally know one person who owns a corvette. They live out in the "boonies", they have a mid-80s 'vette that's been sitting on jackstands for as long as I can remember "being fixed", next to their pickup with a 4" lift. I do not like that person, the classificiation "hick" fits him in any sense of the word. However I do not let that single experience determine my view of thousands of enthusiasts around the globe.
You admit that you hate American cars.
Did you hate American cars before the Z06?
Have you put any thought into the fact that your predisposition to hate American cars might be coloring your perception of a new, possibly supurb vehicle coming out of American factories?
Had it been any other American car from the past two decades I would may have joined in on the bashing. But I have an open mind, and on those rare occasions when America puts out a fantastic car I will not despise it simply because it wasn't made in Germany or Italy.

And I dont have any idea what the hell your definition of "hick" is but whatever. And by the way all of the hicks I know (we have some family back east in NC, etc) sure as hell know how to change their oil..
Don't hate the Z because it'll destory anything rocking an M-Badge ;)
