Have both, can confirm. Granted my VW is a base model and my E30 is fully loaded. But it's just a better car.

That was my first thought. For such a rare car, to only have 2 pictures and a few sentences seems suspicious. Still, it's an awesome car.

I don't much about these, but aside from the synchro system, seems like you could lift a regular golf and fit some off road goodies on it and get most of the fun for a fraction of the price.

yeah, that was my thought too. Hell, a regular 16v gti this clean and original would bring close to that cl price. 20k seems about right for this. vw nerds ejaculate over rare or limited models like this.
Rallye golf's are awesome, but probably the least sexy execution of an 80's style box flare. 944 and e30m being the benchmarks for not looking "pasted" on, in my mind.
