I think that makes a good point. Seeing on how the Porsche market it going. It's only a matter of time before 951s are going to be scooped up by collectors. I mean for a turbo P car they could be found sub 10k all day. Throw another 5-10k at it and you're in evo territory investment wise. Seeing to how 914s are steadily climbing in price the 951 market is going to bump in the coming years especially as they get a bit older and more nostalgic. Or not who knows.

Havent been on the forums in awhile but I just got an evo 9 a few months ago. Super happy with it. If you are going to get one, get one with an 5spd not a 6spd. The 6spd is great on the freeway cruising but doesn't handle more then 420hp, of course it depends how you drive it too. So if you are going to mod an evo you are going to want to consider which direction and power levels you want to go with. There are some differences between the evo 8 and 9s so research more and ask yourself what do you want out of the car and starting making a list of what you want from the car. Daily driver? 8 or 9? autox? track days? do you want a big wing? or no wing? etc etc.-Frank

In the looks department honestly I think the 951 wins with a more classic design. Evos are just too "boy racer" cop magnets.
The Evo 8/9 will make a shit ton of power on the stock turbo/block. That's why they were ringer in the boost buggy classes for long.Need parts now? Need them cheap? steve@blunttech.com

If the objective is to remain stock (and NOT a DD, plus access to a lift), then I might rock a 951.
If it's a DD with no lift, abort mission. Although many would tell me the same thing about my car. I guess it really comes down to how passionate you are about a particular vehicle. No E30 ClubOriginally posted by MrBurgundyAnyways, mustangs are gay and mini vans are faster than your car, you just have to deal with that.

I have a stock '84 944 N/A. It's a fun little car, handles great, looks great, but it always leaves me wanting more [power].
I think a well sorted 951 is the way to go. Better looking car with a lot more appreciation potential. Not to mention, chicks will be much more likely to get down and dirty with a Porsche owner than a Mitsubishi owner. :ST1G:
