That sucks and it's one of my greatest fears. Good luck with the insurance and rebuilding process, it's good that you have family to stay with while this gets taken care of.

Glad to hear your family is ok. Stay on the insurance company and don't let up either. What part of SE Georgia do you live in? I use to live in Valdosta around late 1975 to 1977.Had alot of bad weather down there.

Well today we had the "pack out" occur, and right now it's a terrible downpour here. My cars are safe. I know it could have been worse and I am thankful. Thanks for all the replies. There is nothing we can do but move forward. Tomorrow I go back to work for the first time. I don't know how I'll fair but I have to. I'm not trying to make $$ here, I just want to get back to where I was before it all happened. Today I spent about 10hrs plus cleaning with a crew. I'm sun burnt and drop dead tired. I was and cleaned my car to get a break from the bs and it downpours as soon as I walk away. Hope my vert doesn't leak to bad today. SMFH. EVERYONE read your insurance and be sure you are covered for enough! We seem to have good coverage but please be sure!!

Sorry for your loss. I work at a fire and water damage restoration company and can give you some advice if you need it. Who is your insurance carrier? If the insurance company gives you a hard time you can always hire a public adjuster, but keep in mind they charge 20-30% for the service. Make sure you have a good fire damaged restoration contractor, or a insurance restoration specialist who can give you a estimate for a rebuild, dont just rely on the adjusters/insurance estimate, because those guys cant write a estimate for shit. Like i said let me know if you have any questions. Good luck and hope you get back sooner than later.

Glad everyone made it out ok.

When i lived in Virginia, we has massive T storms, our house got hit, and it started a fire on the carpet, it almost incinerated an easy bake over my sister had left plugged in, but off. Melted about 15 wall socks, and bulbs, and house needed re wiring.

Sorry for the loss, If you set up a go fund me, or whatnot, link it please

              Please leave feedback below, thanks

Thanks for all the advice. Its still all crazy, and the insurance has sent out a "High loss adjuster" because of the extent of our loss. n2bimmer thanks for the advice and offer. If i need anything I will hit you up. I have some good neighbors, and some great coworkers who are supportive. Tomorrow we will be doing a test of all the home electronics, or anything that may have been plugged in. thats going to be a long drawn out process, because what doesnt work becomes an argument over what its worth.

Sorry to hear this, man, losing everything like that puts stuff in perspective right quick.

Good to hear you and all the family got out OK, that's what really matters.

Best of luck dealing with the hassles, I've been through it myself, it's no fun at all.

Their "high loss adjuster" is just standard procedure. They have a book which tells them what to do at all times. Just sit down with them and go through every toaster and microwave you have. Look up comparable models. It's going to be e30 parts searching on steroids for a bit. But with due diligence you could come out on top with brand new everything! Whatever happens, try to look on the bright side and see it through

Did a walk through with a contractor, and the contents adjuster yesterday. Its crazy to have to make a list of everything you own, when it was bought and how muxch it was.................. Also went to see a rental home which was a major bust. Funny what you get used to having. I am now with relatives in 1br.
