He took his own life at the age of 41.

        Addiction is dangerous. Shame

Worst thing is that he had 6 children and was married when this happened. Sucks

He was abused badly as a child too, which was a factor in his addiction and depression.

His lyrics reflected that heavily in linkin parks first two albums

He is. Do you think they will be talking about this guy in 2000 years? Jesus literally changed time, no joke

I never listened to anything after meteora. That and hybrid theory changed the game for alt rock and paved the road for new sub genres in hardcore/metal core.

It's cool if you don't like any of their music, but it did inspire artists to write some fresh music.

Hybrid theory was the first CD I ever bought, and a linkin park show was my first concert ever in the 6th grade. That inspired me to pick up playing guitar and pursue music. Their first album was so inspirational to me... If it was never created, my life may be way different today.

That's my cute little story about LP

I must admit, Meteora was a different sound at the time. Reanimation is damn cool album. I absolutely love "krawling" from reanimation, i think i play it now.

I cant stand much of their new stuff, but regardless of who he is, its still quite sad. Depression is no joke.

Spent my teenage years listening to Linkin Park. The lyrics were full of meaning to those who listened closely.

I actually had "I will never be anything until I break away from me. I will break away, I will find myself today." written on the wall in my room.

RIP, thanks for helping me through some shit back in the day.
