All it takes is a lot of hard work and some dedication to see it through. I no longer own/work for the company and I'm employed by another company. I'm making less than I was before, but I'm enjoying my job/life much more.

I hope everything works out for you man I really do, but you have no idea what your getting into. A 250k house on 2500 a month? Youve never lived on your own have you? You know how much the little things add up to? Its not like living with mom who buys all your toilet paper, groceries, pays the electric bill, insurance, repairs, maintenance. Yeah, that loan must be an interest only 30 year something, because there's no way you'd be approved for 250k through normal channels if you pull in 2500 a month.

Yeah well the loan is not going to happen.

but if it was going to happen there would be about 115,000 a year in the household income. becuase i would be living with two roommates. so the whole burden wouldnt be on me.

Mike, have you ever considered getting a trailer? Thats what many people do when they have an expensive hobby and are not particular about the house they live in.. not only that but most trailer parks don't care what you do (as it relates to working on your car) as long as you pay the lot rent. And if for some reason you get evicted, you can take the trailer over to your mom's house and park it there.


As far as the roommate thing goes, good friends and/or people who make good money seldom make good roommates. Don't get me wrong- having a roommate when you own a house is helpful but you cannot put yourself in a situation where you are dependant on them to do their part so that you can pay the mortgage. And then you will have to consider how you will deal with them if they are a total slob, if they don't ever clean up around the house, and if they break things. So please heed the advice that is being given to you by the people commenting on this thread.

When I was your age, I never claimed that I knew everything but I was certain that I knew enough about what I needed to know to make some decisions that I had no business making. Had I listened to the advice of my elders, I probably would not have dug myself the holes that I put myself in.

I think that many of us on this thread can attest to the fact that they screwed up in life one way or another because in our late teens to mid 20's we thought we were making good life decisions.
