Why deny global warming? Nearly every climate scientist in the world agrees that global warming is real and is the result of human beings. The only ones that disagree are the ones on the payroll over at ExxonMobil or General Motors. You can keep on denying it all you want but it's not gonna change the fact that it is real and your children will have to deal with it in a more dramatic way then we do. Give yourselves all a big round of applause for being selfish, ignorant, fools.Comment

I just gave myself a standing ovation. And as a matter of fact most of my knowledge about global warming came from pamphlets that I got from the oil companies.. so I know its true that global warming does not exist.Comment

Funny you say ignorant yet you claim "Nearly every climate scientist in the world agrees that global warming is real and is the result of human beings."Why deny global warming? Which is bullshit. There are many scientists that don't just disagree but question whether GW is real. We already know climate change is real. But is GW....
For every fact that supports GW there is a conflicting fact.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.

Here's the evidence, and you can do your own research:
Go look up weather records for the past 100 years.
You'll notice that 75 years ago, the weather was far more stable. Temperatures were ON AVERAGE...cooler.
The increased heat is what's been responsible for the upswing in hurricanes. Hurricanes are essentially giant heat pumps that transfer hot air from the lower atmosphere to the upper atmosphere.
The climate is changing, and the world is getting warmer.
HOWEVER, the debate is whether or not this phenomenon is MANMADE. I would tend to say that since manmade chemicals caused the depletion of the ozone layer in the 80s and 90s (it's getting better now), which increased insolation (means amount of radiation absorbed...not insulation), and manmade particulates reduce the albedo (reflectivity) of the atmosphere, it should be self evident that we do play at least a small role.
I would tend to say that we can't be responsible for the entire trend. The 'normal' global climate (since the planet has been habitable, not since the 1900s) is actually MUCH warmer and more chaotic...(during the age of the dinosaurs we had a tropical planet for MILLIONS of years).
If it IS us, we'll knock ourselves into another ice age before we can totally destroy the ecosystem, but we survived one before and we're better equipped to handle it now, so we'll be OK in the long run.Comment

The arguing that you get when global warming is brought up is a lot like the whole religion debate. Unfortunately, the science can only tell us so much at this point, and a lot of the time people just totally deny the other side's arguement.
That is compounded by the fact that there are groups on both sides that don't give a shit whether it is "real" or not, they just want you to agree. If you saw the Oscars this year, the resounding support of Al Gore was absolutely laughable. It totally reminded me of the F.A.G. on Team America.
I am ALL FOR recycling and regulating big polluters/cars/etc. Unfortunately, as a four wheeler, crazies from groups like Sierra Club are going BOTH BARRELS trying to deny people like me from enjoying myself on trails on the weekend. The same is happening to mountain bikers and any other outdoor related participants. This is where I lose them. If it were up to them I would be dead. It would "save the environment" in their eyes. In the places I four wheel, pipe bombs have been found that were targeting wheelers. That seems incredibly counter-productive to me.
That said, I think our best bet at this point is to be reasonable, try to do our part to use resources somewhat sparingly, and see where it takes us. I don't believe the evidence suggesting otherwise are reasonable enough to even consider.

There are a bunch of
out there that want us to beleave that global warming is going to doom us all. I think it's a bunch of crap myself. So i'll sit back and watch people argue back and forth in this thread.

wow, I just got done watching the whole video............wow, it has many good points that are greatly supported with scientific evidence and I have to say, it makes a whole lot of sense, especially at the end when it goes on to talk about developping countries and why they aren't developped as much as they should be considering how developped other countries are.My 2.9L Build!
