how about the fact that 6,000 years isn't long enough for an organism to become a fosil, ever seen one of those? try looking at a rock sometime.

Newton's Gravity is a law. But it is still a theory. That is why it is referred to as Newton's Law of Gravitation in reference to a theory relating to gravity.

The two are not mutually exclusive.

Laws describe, theories explain. Doesn't necessarily mean either are proven to be conclusively true 100% of the time. Most of our fundamental laws of physics dissappear under very very narrowly different circumstances.

you made some nice points marshall, thanks for sharing.
Have you ever read the Bible? For one thing, Jesus is quoted in the Bible.

Accounts of time spent with him is recorded in it also. Some books of the Bible were written as early as 40 or 50 years after his death and resurrection by the Apostle Paul.. I don't think he was just making things up.

Like the guy said on the video that I doubt you watched, you can believe

1 - God existed in the beginning, before time, before creating the universe.

        or

2 - Dirt existed in the beginning, before time.. before life.

I choose God, He is 100 percent real to me.

I'm not trying, or am going to try to beat the Bible over any of your heads. You have a will to believe what you want, I'm just trying to let you see my point of view.

Not all Christians believe that the world was created 6,000 years ago, and that evolution doesn't exist. I personally believe that God created our universe, but I also believe that this happened millions or billions of years ago. I also believe that there is evolution, man certainly isn't the same now than he was 1,000 years ago - however, I don't believe man evolved from monkeys.

              I know this..

When I practice what the Bible teaches me as a Christian.. good things happen to and for me. When I do the opposite it has ALWAYS comes back to me in bad way.

Even if you do not believe in God the Bible is a really good self help book if you consider implementing what it teaches you.

In my own life I've met many successful people and many slack ass under achievers. What I've found is that most of the successful people actively practice their faith whether it be Christianity, Islam, Judiasm, etc and most of the under achievers either claim to believe some BS religion like Wicca or claim their is no God at all.

I also find that those same successful people learn to work through life's challenges using the lessons their faith teaches and that most under achievers spend more of their energy finding something or someone to blame their problems on instead of learning to deal with them. Many of them use the argument "If there was a God then why would he let (insert bad thing here) happen (to me, to people, etc.)"

This does not apply to everyone but does to the vast majority.

I find this to be no coincidence though it explains why Conservatives are very religious and Liberals are always such whiny bitches about it.

I am not calling him delusional on the basis that I find Christianity somewhat far fetched (trying to be nice here), I am calling him delusional for calling everyone else "hopeless". That is downright ignorant.

I don't disagree that there are driven "religous" people, but just because you see less driven "others" doesn't make your point the least bit valid. Look at the numbers, it doesn't take a genious.

I like to blame all of my problems on myself, I'm the only one I KNOW I can change.

FINALLY, you resort to the pointless name-calling you initially whined about. That makes you the big man. And this is all while I hate crazy liberals just as much as you.

                What a cluster fuck.

I don't see how any one of you can act like you have the slightest idea what we are doing here, how we got here, or where we are going.

Any of the theories are unimaginable, none of them make sense for the level of knowledge we currently have.

So I ask, how the fuck can any one of you tear into somebody else for believing something just as whacked out as what you believe in?

The thing that pisses me off about religious arguments are the way people try to cram their idea's down your throat. Make your fucking point without the sarcastic "I'm going to heaven and you're going to hell" bullshit. Other then that, I love hearing everyone's outlook and opinion. I just don't see why there is a right or wrong, as there realistically isn't right now.

                  First off,

The bible is a piece of shit.

                  Second, you are hopeless.

You are hopeless. If you think we are to live on this earth and die, and that is final, I feel sorry for you. You have nothing to look forward to, nothing to put your faith in. I'm sorry that some of you are so hopeless.
I feel sorry for YOU, that you HAVE to believe in something and HAVE to have "faith" in something. If more people believed in THEMSELVES, this world would be a better place. People who have to believe in something are weak minded.

Hey, thats an interesting point, and I am glad you brought that up- Why is it that non-religious people feel uncomfortable around religious people sharing what they think and believe?

Like if I tell you that God made the earth in 7 days and created everything on this planet and the only way into heaven is to believe in God, why would someone feel that its being forced down their throat? Do non-religious people feel like they are being controlled by those who are religious? Do they feel a sense of obligation to be polite or to listen to a mini-sermon about hell when they really could care less?

And as a society do we consider non-religious people and non-believers in God as people who are forcing atheism down the throats of those who believe in God?

Its funny how we can talk about sex, porn, drugs, homosexuality, food, music, pop culture, science, business, movies, and the murderer on the 6:00 news and nobody is the least bit uncomfortable discussing it regardless of how many different viewpoints we have on these issues... but as soon as the topic of religion comes up, all of the non-religious people become uptight. Why is this?

I disagree with you entirely on this. I have no problem listening to other peoples viewpoints, have even gone to a few different denominations of churches, to hear different messages. I actively engauge in "discussions" about different beliefs with people of "different" faiths.

Notice, I said "I" that entire paragraph, when you generalized each group. Not knocking your generalization, but there are always a few "fanaticals" on each side, who "cram" religion down your throat, or vice versa, and build these large generalizations. I, for one, know a few "bible thumpers" who are not "crammers," and once again, vice versa.

Man destroys, it is human nature.

                          Here's an example for you:

A man that drives a brand new BMW takes it out for a drive and wrecks it very shortly after leaving his house. He calls BMW and complains and is frustrated at this, he doesn't understand.

Think of this on the same terms as with our world and God. We're destroying our world, and our relations, yet sometimes people question God, saying "God, why have you done this/allowed this to happen". It's our fault. Humans are selfish, none of you can deny it.

None of that had to do anything with what I said.

And not only that, who the fuck are YOU to say we are "destroying our world" and "our relations." In your "higher power" beliefs they might be.

You seem to use "God" as a scapegoat for YOUR problems. If it is "our" fault, meaning part of these problems are your own. Why don't you divert your "belief" and "faith" into yourself to try and CHANGE these problems. Instead, you somehow twist this on a "belief" or "faith."

I must say, there are a few on this Earth who do try and change things, and bring "peace."

Every year when the government statistics come out, all the people in Arkansas and Alabama say, "Thank God for Mississippi."
