Most European countries have no limits on suppressors, mufflers they call them. You can go to a hardware store and pick them up like you do bubble gum.

I just didnt know if South Africa did the same.

hrm. never thought about that before. didn't even realize that was an issue.. makes sense, but it can't burn that bad, can it? all the videos i've seen of suppressed 308 seem to shoot fine. or is it that the inconsistent burn gives you inconsistent bullet speeds?

From what I remember you have to do a little experimenting with powder type. IIRC you have to go to a little slower burning powder for good reliability with sub sonic 308

Our 300blk had trouble feeding a certain type of sub, I don't remember what exact manufacturer/model is was.

Anyone want to buy my xps? I've been spending too much money on the S4 lately, so I've decided to sell off other toys to compensate. I won't give up the Colt for anything, but accessories.....

Eotech xps2-2 in perfect condition. I have the box and manual and all that jazz. Only putput about 300 rounds down the pipe with it mounted. It's the one with the reticle and dual dot, IIR its set for 50-250 yards.

            Let's say, $400 shipped? I paid $550 new.

I also have a good bit of m855 green tip to unload, inventoried the safe and figure I can give up about 900 rounds. I won't ship the stuff, but if you're local PM me

              1. holy crap, so many different types of licenses

              2. it's interesting that the SA government has enough sense to tell that if a person can pass a background check to possess a handgun they should be able to conceal carry it as well, yet good ol' murica refuses to see that logic
Haha, yeah we can own pretty much any type of firearm except full auto rifles.
The background checks though are a bit of a laugh, they basically check your criminal record and that's it.

Our biggest issue is the time duration from application till when we can collect. It's up to around 8 months now, but can be as quick as 3. They also have a nasty habit of refusing applications based on bad motivation, but yet if you resubmit with the same motivation often it will be approved.

So I've officially gotten bored with my Ruger GP100 so I'm looking to sell it to fund my next purchase. A Jericho 941 :)

They used to have a ton of surplus hi powers and Jericho 941/Baby Eagles. They have reasonably priced pieces. I bought a Hi Power that I love from them. Don't sell that gp100 just yet if you don't have to. I sold mine to fund a s&w 686 and still miss it. Buying both is really the best option if you can swing it.

It's a gun that you definitely have to be strict with or else you'll have feeding issues. Honestly, I have only had one. Another complaint that people have is that ejecting shells will hit your wrist, simply not true. I've put maybe 40-50 rounds through it and haven't gotten touched once. For the price, I'm extremely happy with it's versatility.

I have one in 16ga and it's awesome. Dove hunt with it every year. Great gun to shoot skeet with too.
