Oh okay, I know a few people who are lefties so I know how it is trying to find a holster, thats why I poke fun (and assumed thats why you had a custom carry rig, lol). Here is my "summer" carry gun (XD40 SC) in a Galco IWB.

^ nice. How do you like it in .40? I shot one in 9mm and thought it felt just...soulless. It was incredibly boring. I think I need to shop for a smaller handgun instead of an AK47 haha!

Anyone who owns a rifle that will shoot to 1000+ metres and doesn't live in Montana (LOL) has it purely for fun of owning it. Which is cool, I own a few guns for that reason, but don't let someone tell you otherwise, lol.

Why do you assume all of that live in MT have a rifle capable out past a 1000 yards???? ( I have several heheheheh) whats with assumptions though????

I have shot the 9mm XD that my friend bought before I got mine (in fact, I decided to buy mine because I liked his so much). I already owned a service model XD40 and mags interchange so I got the XD40SC to utilize that (like I mentioned before, practicality). These guns are not so much for good shooting (though admittedly I love the way mine shoots) as they are for good firepower in a concealable package for self defense. Of course the main competition for the XD would be the Glock, which gets my respect anytime, but I just prefer the overall feel of the XD (not to mention the Glock's trigger leaves much to be desired, as it is DAO and the XD is a SAO).

I shoot the 1911 if I want to feel a gun with "soul" and "purpose." I will shoot the Browning Hi-Power for the same reasons, or a Ruger Redhawk in .44 mag, haha. You just cannot attach those feelings to a gun that is basically just for concealed carry and the occasional 50rd box. Its the Honda civic of guns; its not pretty and may not be fun to drive, but it gets the job done well.

I have seen some wilderness in the NW part of the USA, if I lived there I would own a rifle with those capabilities and actually put it to use. :D

Here is my carry weapon of choice. SA XD 9mm Sub Compact with Galco inside the waistband holster.




Packs a nice punch for me at least. Went with this over a glock because of the dual safety system but also it feels a bit better built than a glock, got some weight to it.

What some times the trophy elk is on the other side of the valley no matter how many times you chase him and try to get on the other side where he is hes still on the other side. This eliminates those issues, set up, range, check the wind, knock him down. Go collect haul out and eat.

That and I have shot a 50bmg. AHHHHH NO thats a bit too much of a thump, and those guys build them down by Bozemen. No instant back ground check for me, made in MT, bought by a MT resident to be kept in MT, We have a neat law that says if these are the conditions of the purchase then fuck the feds. (its tied up in court atm though)

I like this. I have pondered leaving the south a handful of times and based on my findings, I really like Montana for reasons such as this.

In Georgia the biggest game I think we have available is white-tail deer. My Ruger M77 in 7mm-.08 has no problem with the ranges I hunt at (< 300metres). Some day I will justify spending big money on a high dollar long-range rifle. Some day.. 8)

If your coming up here bring you wallet, the Californians have pretty much ruined the west side of the state. If you dont like the snow and cold, you wont last up here winter runs from mid-late oct - mid april. I have seen it snow in JUNE, like MID june and ALL DAY in the valley, and the old timers have seen snow in the valley in july and august as well. Vally sees about 100 inches of snow + per year.

I have not been home in over year (out working to make a living so I can live up there). It sucks that way but when I am home, there is no better feeling watching the sun come up over the High peaks of Glacier and the whitefish range, and watching it set behind the Salish. If I can live out my days here, I will die a very very happy man.
