Lack of upper body strength and and a little inexperience thrown in. I finally got my girlfriend to lean into the gun after several range trips.

I believe I've found my next purchase when they become available...

Colt SP901 modular carbine. 308 AR platform capable of swapping to a 5.56 upper and magwell adapter. Hopefully it will achieve similar quality as the Larue OBR and LMT 308 MWS at a lower price. I planned on trying to find an LMT MWS until I read about the Colt having an MSRP of $2200...

being only set up at that price in most likely the 5.56 configuration. If you wanted the optional pieces its going to cost you quite a bit more. Most likely you would have to build or have another complete upper. Adding to the cost. I would not like the idea of having some sort of mechanism holding the smaller mags in. (If it can it will) thinking I guess. Still cool but I much rather have the OBR or the MRP over Colt any day!

        COLT 45

You sure that is a 45? Looks like 22 caliber to me.

From what colt is advertising it comes equipped with the .308 and 5.56 adapter. You'll have to supply the additional upper though. I just like the idea of registering one SBR lower capable of so many different configurations. I would like the LMT or LaRue but their prices have kept me away. I hear you on the mag adapter though. I'm hoping its not a failure point.

The LMT MRP has interchangeable barrels and can be done in a matter of minutes. I can go from a 16" to a 10" with just removing 2 screws. I can also go from 9mm to 6.8 with just the barrel and BCG.

The mag adapter concept has been around for quite some time. It has been a hit and miss with the AR platform. I hope Colt is able to figure it out. But for me and having to have a complete upper on hand is quite expensive and bulky. Im sure the new upper will be priced accordingly. For that, Im sure you could just buy another rifle.

Appears to have the floating chamber that is characteristic of the 22lr conversion. Note the slanted cocking serrations, Accro style rear sight, Patridge front sight, and lack of relief at the ejection port. These characteristics are commonly found on the ACE and on conversion kits. The Gold Cup has similar features, but Eliason rear sight and relieved ejection port.

I still want it, it looks very nice.

I should have been more specific, any milspec 5.56 AR upper will work on this gun. Its not a colt proprietary upper receiver. I like that feature simply because I can use the same lower for whichever caliber or barrel length setup. I don't mind having a few various uppers for different purposes. I've also seen the cost of the barrels for the LMT and they cost nearly what I have into my entire Daniel Defense upper.

Got my concealed weapons permit in the mail today and went straight to the gun shop. Walked out with a used Glock 23 .40 with nightsights, 2 10round standard mags and a LE 13 round mag. Can't wait to shoot it this weekend!

It was my main choice until I saw the Colt. I might still look for an LMT if the quality of the Colt is dramatically inferior. I think its safe to assume that the LMT is the better built gun between the two, but I don't think its as dramatic a difference as say a DPMS vs LMT. I'll have to just wait and see when they actually hit the shelves.

You have any recent pics or range updates of your LMT? I remember seeing pics of it back when you got it but that was it. Sexy beast that rifle is...

yeah I have gotten about 250-300 rounds though it..........

Thing is a tac driver, since shot 1, and has tightened up a bit as put rounds thought it and since I am so outta practice it shoots better than me at the moment. 4 golf ball hits at 250 outta 6 shots is not bad too bad.

I think the only recent shots I have of it are on my computer at home.

Really for a couple hundred difference I would say too hell with the colt
