Sweet! Have you found an upper yet? Buy whatever you can at this point! What are your plans for it?

I'm just snagging the lower for now. RRA seem's to have the internal kit I want in stock (gotta have that 2 stage trigger ever since I had my RRA) I'm in no rush though. I figure after the smoke clears, as long as I have my lower the other parts will come back on the shelves. Edit: RRA may not have it in stock, oh well. I'll just be patient.

All I really want out of it is the RRA 2-stage trigger, chrome lined 16" barrel (Another thing I loved about the RRA, barrel was clean in 3 swipes), a nice EOTech, and some back up irons. OD Green/Black (because "assaultrifle" amiright?) I'm not too much into adding a bunch of crap to my rifle. I like it simple and effective.

Enjoy that A5! My Grandfather has one, such a sweet shooter. Come to think of it I think the only times I remember shooting it was for clay's.

Nice! And I agree, I have the RRA 2 stage trigger in my LMT and love it. Nice and smooth. Id love an eotech at some point, right now i just have a reddot and backup irons on mine.

And thanks, the A5 should be fun! Always wanted a good skeet/trap gun.

As promised once I got everything together, I would post some pics. Its not a Laupa like I was really wanting its only 300 WinMag but it will still reach out and touch shit at 1500+ yards.

Specs
-Sako TRG-42 in 300WM. with less than 100 rounds down the pipe. Beretta has stopped importing the WM as of this year
-Long TRG action, 1-11 RH twist, 4 groove 100% free float sako propitiatory Aloy/heat treatment 27 1/8" Barrel
-All mounted to an AL. Chassis system that the fully adjustable stock then bolts too
-7 round mag
- The best 2 stage trigger I have every felt, it breaks better than any custom 1911 trigger I have ever shot, as well as adjustable 9 ways to sunday.
Only real draw back is the fucker is heavy, I have not weighed it yet but with everything I am betting its going to be pushing 15lbs

Topped off with a Nightforce 5.5-22X56 NXS sitting in a NEAR manufacturing tri-ring 30moa alpha mount stuck onto a factory Sako pictiny rail mount.

the only thing I am waiting on is the Atlas Bipod and adapter mount for the TRG factory mount. Other wise I cant wait to go see what this thing will do, guy I bought it from says at 100 its a single hole rifle to the point that you think you missed all but the 1st shot. Hoping to get it out tomarrow or the next day or at least before I have to go back to work.

Picked this up last week, friend out in MT sold it to me. 1958 Belgian made Browning A5. Plan for now is to restore it then use it for skeet/trap shooting.

Thanks guys, dont expect any thing else new from me for a long long while as that blew my hobby budget for the rest of the year for the most part. :)

I need to make a declaration too, if you want the very best rings and bases or 1 piece optic mounts. I have to say NEAR is some of the best quality stuff I have ever seen the only thing that might be any better is a Spuhr.

For less expensive alternative to and AI/AI-AW, Sako TRG, or going full custom from GAP or similar.

Look into a new Tikka in a non mag chambering of your choice, (or if you must a Rem700) dont worry about the stock that comes with it, and then go get a Whiskey 3 Chassis form Kinetic Research Group (KRG). Or what I would really would do if considering this route and have mentioned it previously. Is to go forth and find your self a Sako M995 (AKA the TRGs ) and put the barreled action in KRG chassis that is inleted for it. Either the Tikka or M995 are going to run between 700-1100 bucks and even though they are similar in price to a rem 700, they are a WAY better bolt gun outta the box the action on them is so much tighter and feels so much slicker. The Whiskey 3 runs about 920 for a fixed stock variant. Since the KRG uses the much cheaper AI mag Vs the Sako's you can get a couple of them and a tri-ring Alpha mount from Near and your all in for around 2k - 2500 Plus your glass budget. If you were to Throw a 6-24x50 or 4.5-14x50 Zeiss conquest on this kinda set up and you would have a hell of a long range rig for about 3500 bucks on the higher side, with some good shopping you can prolly get done for closer to 3k.

I went with the TRG as opposed to the Tikka/TRGs/Worked over Rem 700, because I have always wanted a TRG/AI for 1 and I wanted a completed system that I didnt have to do a ton of work too to put together due to my limited time I have at home, the out of the box trigger and accuracy gives me something to relearn my marksmanship skills and grow into it with out having to upgrade gear down the line. That and the TRG is just dead sexy

Sleeve you will love the atlas. I currently have two on my bolt guns and they are hand down the best bi-pod made. Great choice on scope too. I have the same NF but in 50
