I was at the dealership yesterday and saw the subaru GT sedan. I gotta say I was impressed. Looks a hell of a lot better than my mom's forrester. granted it was dropped with sti wheels, dark privacy glass, and a beastly twin stainless exhaust. I think it was one of the service writer's car, it was well done.

the front end is too heavy and makes the car look disproportionate. I think its ugly based on that alone. If the front end were smaller, or had the appearance of being smaller, or if the rear had more overhand [sheet metal behind the rear wheels] it would look much better. To me its even hard to look at it because these attributes confuse the eye into thinking that the perspective is all off.

              Good questions.

If they kept each design for another year or so they'd probably cut down on costs. I personally like the bug-eyed/roundy headlight ones the most I think.

front and side profile look good, but the rear is butt ugly. those rear lights, makes it look so cheap.

Since power is on the low side, the trick is to keep the engine "on the boil" and the car flowing from corner to corner.

Manufacturers have found that short-wheelbase cars do a better job of conserving momentum on modern WRC stages (which have been getting twistier and slower compared to the old days). Small hatche srotate easier at corner entry, which means they don't need to brake as much. So, they have been dominating modern WRC.

If the Imprezza looks like that i'd hate to see what the Lancer looks like.

From what I've been reading, it sounds like Mitsu will NOT be basing their next WRC car on the Lancer platform at all. So, like the M3, the Lancer is free to move away from it's Gruppe A "homologation special" roots and slowly transform into a heavy, sluggish luxo-barge.

According to the buzz, Mitsu's next WRC entry will be based on the Colt chassis:

I like it in comparison to the "pig-nosed" generation, but that's not saying much. It looks like an average econobox.

The GTI looks way better, and the r32 is sex.

Lol... not sure why you bring GTI or R32 into this, as they don't compare to the STI or EVO in terms of raw performance.

Coming from ex GTI and R32 owner. I came really close to buying an STI...
