I have had DSL at other times in other locations over the last few years and I have had nothing but bad experiences with it. Once FIOS is available in my area, I am getting that at both the office and at home.

I've had DSL from a LEC for 2 years now, can't think of anytime I've ever been disconnected. It depends on who ya got and where ya got it from. If the local lines are shitty, if the repairman constantly put together loose connections because they suck at life, etc...

Weird that you had so many issues though, that sucks.

My house is over 100 years old and this was one of the first neighborhoods in the area to have telephone service so I can imagine that the CO is a real shithole. I don't know if the history of this house goes back to the reciever and ear piece being 2 separate parts but I am sure that whoever lived here originally had one of those phone numbers like, "ABerdeen4-3205" or "KLondike7-1315"

FIOS is comming soon so I am not really that concerned.

My friend who goes to OSU rented a house with some friends. They got the fastest internet available. 15MBPS but when tested, it came out to almost 25. Only $70 a month too.

Give it a few months, I swear it's more than that after the intro rate. Still better than dealing with a land line & DSL - but not by much since we get crappy TV on the wire vs. the dish. My few pennies.

It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.
