seat looks decent, it's got prostate relief (srsly its important, if you spend a lot of time on a seat that sht is necessary) but the rake is pretty crazy, why so steep? did you try having it pretty flat? noticed the flip flop hub, what gearing is on that?

Yeah, the fork and drop bar combo make for some weird turns... I didn't like it much in the beginning, but I'm getting used to it. It's fun. Although I've gone over the bars once because of it. The seat is comfy- I've straightened it out considerably since those photos. I realized how retarded that angle was... I thought it might be more comfy because this bike is a wee bit too big for me. I've come to the realization that all I need is good posture.

The gearing on the bike is 53/19 or 39/14. Cruising speed is around 20mph and I can almost hit 30 when I'm haulin. It's a great first fixed gear.... I can see this bike getting me into more bikes down the line. Hell, even my dog loves the thing:

annnnnnd one more for good measure.... hahaha.

Kevin, great looking bike. I cant wait till my new one is finished up.

Oh yeah and last wednesday night my friend kyle (see a few pages back the pics i posted) shot a movie of me doing a skid across a parking lot with my leg over the bars. But then i tried to do it for my girlfriend a few hours (and a few beers) later and when i threw my leg over my bars, my foot went onto my front tire and snapped my ankle back causing my toes to jam into the fork locking my wheel. I dont remember falling at all but she said i flew like 4 feet in the air over my bars and my one foot never left my clip. I landed hard on the ground on one wrist and my ass-not quite sure how- and my bike followed suit right on top of my chest. I kicked it off of me, and called it a night. Moral of the story. Drunk fixed gear riding is dangerous.

I'm waiting for the last boxes of stuff for mine. Should be here by friday. BTW, Il Duce, our bikes will look similar, you haven't gone and shot anyone in the helmet as of recent have you?

you really should put some bar plugs on that. open ends like that can cause serious damage.

i rode my bullhorns without tape nor plugs for a couple years (just wrapped them a month ago). I used to stick my thumbs in the openings while riding, sometimes they would get stuck!

                never impaled anybody though

ordered up some velocity deep v's in anodized gold, i'm gonna order some white hubs & spokes this week and build 'em up to convert my old peugot roadie into a fixie. it is the oldest road bike i've ever seen, and i work on bikes for a living. i got a machined front rim so i can run a brake, since i live on top of a huge hill that empties out onto a highway (after crossing some very busy railroad tracks). i figured it'd be a good idea in case of chain breakage. i'm stoked, it'll replace my fit team and yeti 575 as my commuter, w00t!

Thanks for the tip man... I will do something about that, didn't even think about it.

And Beuller is a sweet dog, chocolate labs are so amazing...

Do we have similar bikes? I'd love to see how yours looks... I'm still not 100% sure on which model I have.

I haven't shot anyone in the helmet lately... I've retired my gun unless it's a hot girl in the car next to me.... they don't ever see it coming, and then they giggle. Darts start getting expensive at $8.00 for 30 of em.

Andy- Holy shitballs. Are you dead? I've just learned how to do skid stops and I can't stop! I know one of these days I'm going to eat shit so hard... where do you go to practice the one-footed skids?

Nice bail, Andy! The guys I was with said they literally watched me pole vault over the front of my bike, it was rad.

Kevin, your bike is looking awesome.

Well, now I have an excuse to get the CF fork I want, and a new seat. :D

Here's a couple pics with my new red Fizik bar tape, and my new pedals/clips. The flipped/cut drops work as bullhorns for now, but they're so damn wide, I want to get some actually bulls. Not much else has changed. Yet.

I'm Andy's brother, I was riding with him during that bail. He looked like he was ejected over the bars and the bike came around on top of him since his one foot was clipped in. Pretty wicked.

I bailed a few weeks ago on some uneven pavement that threw my front wheel into a curb (in traffic!). I landed on the sidewalk and some lady walking by looked horrified. Her reaction was satisfying enough to make it worth it. My elbow was bleeding and I got up and rode off. Happens to us all at some point.

We're going on a big ride tonight, maybe we'll snap some pictures.
