You may not be living up to a number, but even as you claim not to be making a statement, you indeed are.
And when you talk about the successful small business owners you know, with the 'majority' without a degree, that does not say much. It should be obvious for anyone who has any understanding of statistics, is you have selection bias. The people you are looking at, and for most part would come into contact with or know to be small business owners, are successful. You don't generally know that the person serving you Starbucks was a failure at operating a small business, or the guy who is a VP at a major software firm was an acquisition following his small firm success and business degree.
People like me and Charlie give you shit because your arguments are weak and simply-put, dumb.
What do I do? I study econometric regression analysis, as well as other things.
Once again - for people like lance who can't read -
I NEVER SAID THAT THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE WITHOUT DEGREES ARE SUCCESSFUL.
Maybe the caps will help it sink in.
I don't understand how this is happening - but I feel the need to explain myself again.
A degree is not REQUIRED to be successful. Anyone disagree? Let me know.

I can one up you though -
I pay for my school in cash out of pocket before every semester
I have 0 debt, own my own brand new house, and buy whatever the fuck I want
I work at the largest NPO Hospital chain in the US and have more than 20 people working under me - many of which have degrees!!
Student loans are a joke. Read some stats on debt."We praise or find fault, depending on which of the two provides more opportunity for our powers of judgement to shine."

Lance, don't break your arm patting yourself on the back. you never answered how old you were or where you go to school - because I know you don't have a degree.

Mariano speaking about himself is an outlier and is an example of how one can do fine without traditional post-secondary education, but then again, in majority of the cases, he should have been lying dead somewhere from an OD or gunshot, or in jail. Don't make plans on exceptions. equate is going to end up burnt out and most likely not a parts manager, and just give up like he did when he was in real college.Last edited by rwh11385; 12-07-2007, 12:31 PM.

Plus, I've only ever argued that there is an exception."We praise or find fault, depending on which of the two provides more opportunity for our powers of judgement to shine."
