As cliche as it may sound, mastering yourself and conquering your vices/addictions is something that is hardly seen or understood by the common eyes. It is the final, or ultimate, frontier regardless of what and where the world around us establishes.

You attitude is that drinking is normal. Just why the fuck would you think sobriety is not normal? Perhaps (and this would explain much) you were born drunk?

My woman drinks "moderately", and smokes a little pot, too...that I supply for her. Oh NOES, can I smell you beer bottle cap, pleeeeese?

If I were able to drink or drug moderately, I would immediately go right back to it. But, in my years of drinking/drugging, I proved to myself that I was unable. I could at first, I did for many years (as in longer than you have been breathing, buckwheat), but I became unable to control myself.

OH MY GOD, I developed an addiction. Be careful, Mr. Ass Hat, it might happen to you.

So, once upon a time, I went to a meeting. One meeting, one more use of drugs, and the very next day is my first day of sobriety...August 26, 1997.

Betcha can't say that...over 10 years without a drink or drug. Can you even claim 30 days? You do not have the balls to go just 30 days without alcohol...no way in hell would you make even 30 days, much less the 9863 or so days that Blunt has managed to keep on living and being happy.

My story is not what this debate is about. This is about your saying that AAers are brainwashed sheep: all they need is to get the willpower to drink "moderately". I and many other members of this board have basically said "Heeter, shut the hell up".

You want you evidence? Read the big book. Between all 4 versions, there are about 120 personal stories...no one got paid, no one is in charge, why would they lie?

Want more evidence? Go to a fucking meeting. Screw up your courage, walk in the door, grab a cup of shitty coffee. Have a seat, announce yourself as a visitor at the appropriate time and LISTEN.
