I don't think people are interested in Palin because she spends money like no tomorrow and then lies about it, but doesn't believe in taxing corporations. I believe there is a large percentage of Americans that will vote for the candidate with the largest belt buckle. If it weren't for having Palin on the ticket, you'd see a lot more photo ops with McCain wearing a cowboy hat and clearing brush from his ranch. It's more an urban vs. rural thing than a "I understand the tiny details of everyone's tax plan" type thing.

If everyone really cared about fiscal responsibility, they'd admit Palin was a lying, big government, earmark loving whore. Maybe they would prefer her over Obama/Biden, but at least they'd acknowledge her deficiencies.

If you have read all my posts, its not that I hate Obama. I dont mind having a black president. I like what he has to say most of the time. But how is he going to do everything he claims he can or will do? The old saying goes, things that seem to good to be true probably are!

And if you read my posts, I never liked McCain either. He is just lesser of the two evils.

Not if you keep electing Republicans. They like to limit the liability of doctors, gunmakers, and other big contributors.

EDIT: Of course the upside, is that there will be more opportunities for collections, bankruptcy and foreclosure attorneys to deal with those in McCain's "middle class" who do not make six or seven figures.

I love how the media twisted McCain's ownership of multiple homes to seem like he cannot relate to the American public simply because he's wealthy. As much as it may hurt your feelings middle class America, you cannot simply obtain wealth by being medicre and maintaining the status quo.

If you want to tax the rich that's fine, but if you study history the rich stay rich because they know how to manage money & assets and the poor stay poor because they cannot.

Besides income taxes, capital gains and dividend tax rates are also reverting back up under Obama. Not that low or some middle income people care about that, but when people have less incentive to invest in the companies that employ them, then maybe it will matter...

I heard something about Obama implementing a 28% capital gains tax on real estate sold. Awesome way to stimulate the housing market and real estate investing :roll:. Less incentive for me to flip property and just raise rents instead.

I couldn't find the info to support that, as it was just an email...

But more than that - think of the retirees who sell their family house and downsize to a condo and have much of their equity taken by the government.

Young people think corporations are evil because michael moore says so, and profits are things that they should have, even if they don't have the capital or risk invested... but hey, who cares about the principles of capitalism... GIVE ME MONEY GOVERNMENT!

A lot of people these days are not "go-getters" and just cruising along, expecting others to take care of them - with a job, benefits, advice, etc.

Doesn't help Obama wants to make it if you succeed you are going to get fucked by taxes - especially if you take the huge risk of starting your own business and your family can't keep it going after you pass because of estate tax. Way to kick the American dream in the balls.

The radio ad claims Obama would increase taxes "on the sale of your home." In fact, home-sale profits of up to $500,000 per couple would continue to be exempt from capital gains taxes. Very few sales would see an increase under Obama's proposal to raise the capital gains rate.

Let's just leave it at the guns and God thing. Palin went in front of 40 million people and lied her ass off. If that doesn't affect your opinion of her, let's not get into taxes on home sales.
