Back in 1982, I found DM to be too sterile and much prefered Human League, Gang of Four, The Stranglers, Psychedelic Furs, Siouxie, PIL, New Order/Joy Division or even this "new" American band from (I think) Boston.

They were called - Ministry

And let's not forget the band that created the whole movement, back in 1973: Kraftwerk. They are the foundation to anything electronic, including hip hop. The first hip hop track "Planet funk" from Afrika Bambaata was a rip-off from Kraftwerk's Trans Europe Express. Most initial electronic funksters will recognize Kraftwerk as an major influence. DM and all the followers too.

I never listened to DM until i uncovered a cover song of theirs...
enjoy the silence... i listened to it covered by a less than favorite band of mine
