    Well I think first they'll
    - take away ours guns (school vicinity policy)
    - continue to disarm the national guard (what you didn't know this has already begun? Scares the shit out of me. Pulling power from the states.)
    - allow the stock market to fall another 10%

I don't think you should be able to vote if you aren't paying taxes. Why should parasites get a say in what should be done? All they'll do is choose to get more for nothing.

Well, posterity, you will never know what it cost us to preserve your freedom. I only hope that you will make a good use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in heaven that I ever took half the pains to preserve it.

Damn Farbin can vote now (he got a job), but I haven't seen him online as much, hehe.

It's seriously a good idea. Who don't pay taxes should not have a say in how my taxes should be spent.

Acorns anyone? Homeless voting? Who the fuck wants homeless to vote? The homeless sure as hell don't want to and I don't want them to either. Its total manipulation. I saw it happening in the city. Having the F'ing bums sign the papers and then just taking them and filling them out as they pleased.

when Obama lets you all down (and he's set himself up for failure, promising such sweeping changes which will either backfire, be so watered down they will be ineffective, or won't happen in the first place), what will you say then? I'm not being sarcastic, I'm being honest. He has promised so much he will never be able to accomplish everything he's stated he's for. he has portrayed himself as the savior of America, and much of America has believed it. When something goes wrong, will you and the rest of the world stand by him? Or will you throw him under the bus? Or, as Obama has shown himself to be great at doing, he will blame those that are not at fault.

Most politicians that get swept into office on a wave of resentment against a current situation end up disgraced, and their supporters disillusioned when they are unable to miraculously fix a country's problems.

Pretty good. I have two flights tomorrow of my 3 for basic instruments, then I get to see outside again. But from what I can tell I'm doing pretty well, a grade or two above passing grades on every item so far. (On a 5 point scale, there's a minimum score to get past the block of training, usually 4-5 flight/sim events. The higher you score above it, the better your grades.) Then again, it's hard to tell because anyone you ask will tell you "ehh, I'm doing pretty well" when you ask them.

But to be honest, if I'm back in FL for any extended time it means I got my second choice, which is likely. There's a lot of smart kids, and the available tailhook slots are shrinking since Navy policy now is to send any physically qualified female with jet grades to fly jets, regardless of her preference or her place in the pecking order grade-wise. So, I'll hit you up ;-)

oh wow, I thought you would be further than that. How does it work for you. Private, Instrument, Commercial, then Multi? Or do you get your multi instrument under your private? In Commercial which I assume would be your first FAA check ride correct, do you actually go up with the FAA or is it in house? Will you also get your CFI, CFII, and MEI as well? Before Jet training?

I did the Comair program in Sanford 8 years ago, and its an 18 month program. From nothing to sitting right seat in either a CRJ or ERJ which ever company you signed up for. Riddle was a 4 year and much slower progress.

                    Back on topic!

Well, we go through Primary in the T-34C Mentor. So after ground school, check-in, the 3-week wait from the time I got here to when I started, and the two-week downtime when I was reassigned to a new instructor and was answering phones for hours, I'm almost caught up. We go through 4 "familiarization" flights, of which I did two because I had prior flight time, then 7 Basic Instrument simulators, then 3 BI flights, then Contacts (basic flying to get to solo). So, I should be soloing in 3 weeks or so if the weather cooperates. I had my Commercial and instrument ratings going into it, as well as 14 hours in the T-34B, so that helped a lot. But I haven't flown instruments in 4 years, so it was tough getting back in the swing of things and simulators suck.

Oh yeah, Obama. I honestly don't think he'll be able to accomplish much of what he says, and life for most people will go on as normal, with worsening economic conditions. Then the world will turn on America because we failed to live up to the expectations they have of a Barack Obama- led nation.

you two love birds could PM each other, would be better, instead of post-whoring.

And yes, Raz, during every election people are promised more than could possibly be done. The whole problem is, that some resolutions are put on the table with 12-20 year time tables, so a president may take a fall or be praised for consequences.

We see it with Clinton/Bush administrations. Clinton was the most active US president in US history, followed by the possibly the most inactive one. Neither is dumb, neither wants bad for the country, just circumstances.

Obama will take office, and he won't know a third of whats going to happen. He hasn't been to good answering questions on his feet, but democratic party will build an all-star office for him to confine in, and that will very possibly turn out to be another Bush/Cheney situation, Biden is that damn smart.

Plus what are the chances democrats will reach across the isle and negotiate. Senate is comprised of millionaires, do you really think they'll pass Obama tax code to fuck themselves over? I know I wouldn't. Do you think all those senators would love to share their medical coverage with the rest of us? They'll ear-mark, they'll revise, they'll corrupt, and by then Obama won't be able to veto his own policies and not look stupid.

Government is a vicious bureaucracy. McCain and Biden know that, that's why they have worked together on so many projects, and they wouldn't work against each other if it wasn't for some sort of favorable outcome to both.

This is one the most unpatriotic things I've ever seen written here.

If you are a citizen of the United States of America, you get to vote. Period. That notion is one of the cornerstones of democracy. There are, of course, certain conditions that apply-criminal activity, mental illness, etc, may result in the denial of the right to vote.

But to say a certain class like the homeless should be categorically denied the right to vote is a dangerous notion, regardless of their tax situation.

Well, we are a republic. So it may be democratically wrong, and it is unpatriotic.

But we'll have people voting that will select candidate:

                              - by the amount of matching letters to candidates name
                              - by amount of media coverage
                              - by Jon Stewart (I love daily show)
                              - by race
                              - by discrimination (black, woman, old)
                              - by religion (yuck)

So see, there will be plenty of idiot showing up for that magic sticker "I voted", but won't know any issues. R3v, for better or for worse, has picked both candidates apart, how many other groups have?

I am all for people voting, but sometimes, if you don't know why you're voting, you sit one out.

PS, I also don't think this is about homeless voting, as much as it about desperate groups picking homeless people up to take them to register and vote. Use soup-kitchen's address as residence, and offering to drop them off wherever they want to be dropped off. I wouldn't surprised if some of those bums weren't paid to vote.

If a citizen shows up to vote, great, but those guys aren't showing up on their own will, they are bribed to vote.
