I am a Philosophy major and I knew right from the start it wasn't going to get me a high paying job. I stick with it though because I enjoy the material and I see it more as personal enrichment then a money ticket.

Also, why do people have to do what everybody else does? High School to College to career seems like hell to me even if it means making loads of cash. I plan on travelling, spending some time in the wilderness and then hopefully a future in the Air Force. This seems like a much better life to me than a 9-5 desk job.

I had a lengthy discussion with a bunch of people from various countries while I was in Tokyo, and aftwerwards everyone agreed that guns are dangerous but it would be a terrible idea to ban them in the US. The main point was, do you really think the people that are going around shooting people are gonna give up their guns if there's a ban? The only thing that changes is that they don't have to worry about the people they're robbing or murdering having a gun.

if that was texas, he would have been shot on the spot. No trial, no BS, he would be dead. No, it wouldn't have saved the poor kid, but at least nobody else would have been in danger. Instead you had a bunch of people who were completely defenseless and one guy with a giant knife who clearly had no intentions of playing nice. They're just lucky that nothing else happened.

also, guns are illegal in canada (except for hunting), but that didn't stop a surge in gun violence in busy areas of vancouver this year. bad guys don't give a shit if something is illegal..
