    Just got this beauty:

Kershaw Leek 1660CB. Main blade steel is Sandvik 13C26 with the edge steel being CPM-D2. It's replacing my well used and worn standard Leek.

I have over a hundred of quality knives I inherited from pops. Some are in a safety deposit box.
This is what I carry everyday,
You can purchase one from Russell Knives for about $26.00.
It is a Paul Dozier, by KA -BAR.
Super lightweight, fits perfect clipped to your front pocket.
Opens at a snap, can be taken apart to clean.
Come on, Dozier for a quarter.I have owned three now.
If You have to use it as a screwdriver, cost you twenty six to replace.
Best bang for your buck , I have found ; and I have built some nice customs, myself.-- Steve

Just read some of this thread. WOW.
I use a knife almost everyday.
If you purchase one of these tools, that you can open with one hand, use, then replace with the same hand, you might truly be amazed.
Trust me, the first time, you utilize this amazing new tool in this manner, you too will be a convert.

Pro tip: Using a knife for self defense(or offense as you imply ) is generally ill-advised if you don't know what you are doing, and based on the way you talk, you don't. This is particularly true when dealing with more than one "asshole bird doggen your women on the street." Mace is a far superior tool to use in this case.

            Don't say I didn't warn you.

^^^ i agree whole-heartedly. If you aren't trained to handle a knife offensively or defensively, just use something else.

Or else I will come see you and give you a ride in my big white tuck with flashing lights.

All I've ever owned is Benchmade. The 943 osbournes are pretty nice as well.

My friends have had good experience with both Boker and Gerber knives as well. I'm sure those have been mentioned ;)

I have been into the art of Bali-song since I was 12. I am going to replace my old one for a newer more well made one. I also have been throwing knifes just as long.

Anyone else throw or use a Bali-song(butterfly)?

I am looking into Benchmade for a new bali-song:

And narrowed it down to two brands for throwers:

I dont get butterfly knives. Its gotta be a kungfu thing. Autoknives make more sense for knife self defense.

A subcompact 9mm handgun makes the MOST sense for self defense.
