wow what a bunch of liberals on this forum.
Good riddens to the asshole, Im glad the cop put an end to it.
I have several friends who are also cops (all NYPD) and all started most of their careers in some of the worst areas of the 5 counties...BedStuy, Brownsville, Queensbridge area, etc etc.
My friends are so paranoid that most of them dont take their bulletproof vests off until they lock the door at their house. They carry at all times (not on them, sometimes in their car and what not), because walking or cruising the beat in those areas, so many people would call them names, throw stuff at them, etc etc. You would be surprised how many people in those areas were itchin to let somethin go on a cop and waste him. Its the same reason they usually dont chase someone into the projects..because you might get hit with a potshot from some 6th story window, and you would never know who nailed your partner. And they guys that they arrest and lockup on small charges, that get out like a week later, you have no idea if they are gonna find you some way. One of them found out where my friend goes to the gym, and him and a bunch of his buddies tried to confront him right in the middle of the gym...some gangstas just dont give a shit and will do whatever it takes to get even.
Thats just my view on the right to carry a concealed weapon wherever you go.Comment

You allegedly hear an outrageous story and then have "issues" with it.My brother and his girlfriend blah blah blah drunk dude tries to kill bouncer, off-duty cop shoots drunk dude
My issues with the situation:
Why was the person simply thrown outside to drive home, not placed under citizens arrest by the bouncer or the police officer?
Why was the officer carrying at a bar?
Why were so many rounds fired?
The police officer claims to have been at dunkin donuts, when many witnesses swear he was there all night.
The police officer has the bouncer as his #2 friend on his facbook.
Discuss...
Some other cop beat the hell out of a teenage girl and that made the news. LA puts their friggin' high speed chases on satellite feeds so the whole world can watch. Where is this news story? if there is any truth to this tall tale of excessive force, you're either the cop looking for absolution, the bouncer listening to your steroids, or the dead drunk posting from your grave.
Why did it take 3+ pages of nonsensical cop-bashing before anyone else called this troll bait?- Sco

End thread. So the drunk guy tried to kill someone with his car and gets shot by an off duty officer.
Sad that he died, but he was in the middle of trying to kill someone.
What if he had floored it and hit a crowd? There could have been multiple fatalities at this apparently over crowded bar.
If any of you were that bouncer you'd be thanking your lucky stars. What if the guy in the SUV had a firearm in his glovebox? The writeup in The Record says all that needs to be said.
And Ray, almost every successful bar/ club has an off duty cop. People are crazy sober, imagine them drunk. I have seen some pretty hairy shit go down over the years. my brother was beaten sensless for breaking up a fight in Buckhead (retired NJ State Patrol). His head was kicked in and he spent @ 7 days in the hospital. If it wasn't for the cop in the bar he might have been killed. The crazy thing is this, the guy who did it was a professional hockey player at the time. He was drunk and snapped. My brother happened to be his target.
That's why Cops are in bars.Yours truly,
Rich

What are you talking about dude. Step back and calf the heck down. It's a viable question and I for one am glad this thread is going on. Get off your high horse and go call someone out over a minute e30 detail someone overlooked. That is where you are supposed to go off on people. Not here. Now beat it kid... you bother me. :DYou allegedly hear an outrageous story and then have "issues" with it.

Because the job of the bouncer is to keep unwanted people out of the club...not to arrest them. Bouncers are not police officers. They don't care what the guy does after he leaves the club. It's not their problem.
Because off-duty officers are allowed concealed carry everywhere that an on-duty officer is allowed open carry. That includes bars, banks, hospitals, schools, etc.
Because officers are trained to shoot until the threat is over. Sometimes that means one shot...sometimes it means 15 shots. You shoot to stop the threat. Round count isn't an issue.
That's an issue for the courts to decide.
It's very common for police officers to "moonlight" as private security in their off-duty hours. They get paid pretty well for it. Maybe this is a club where he's friends with the owner and agreed to provide security for them.sigpic

I'm suprised by how many people are bashing the cop. I see absolutely nothing wrong with what he did. Drunk crazy guy in car who has already run over 1 person, probably going for countless others deserves to be dealt with. In this case, society was lucky there was a cop there and he did what he had to do to protect other lives. Good for him.
I laugh when people say "they should have beat his ass!" How would you do that when he's in a car running over people?Comment
