tweekers and cokeheads aren't that way because speed and coke are 'controlled substances', they are what they are because their minds are fried from too much/too many drugs.

but do you think everyone is going to start smoking meth just because it was legal? Or the same people who were idiots before are going to be idiots regardless?

Legality legitimizes certain behaviors. Removing deterrents such as jail, probation, and the stigma associated with the preceding will perceptually minimize the consequences of an addiction to hard drugs. If normal people were capable of using good judgment and were considerate of others, we wouldn’t really need laws…

I never knew one drug addict that was happy with themselves and their situation; every addict, including myself, was always trying to get clean and sober. I completely understand why drugs are illegal.

lots of drugs that are harmful are legal though. tabacco anyone? I don't smoke and it's legal. there's still a "stigma" attatched with being a smoker, and I don't think being a junkie would be any less pleasant just because it wasn't illegal.

Although I don't think drugs like crack and meth should be decriminalized, I do think that alternatives to our 25 year "war" on drugs that has proven ineffective should be considered.

I thought we were talking about kidnapping and now you are all creeping me out about the drugs again. If I told you once I told you a thousand times I am not addicted, I did not even inhale and I did not have secks with that woman.

I would love for you to explain logic to me blunt. I guess these past three years of schooling specifically in topics such as symbolic logic, modal logic, philosophy of language and analytic philosophy have made me even dumber when it comes to these subjects. So please blunt, tell me what logic is. All those asshole professors of mine with PhD's know absolutely nothing about the subjects they teach.

PS - Can you even tell me what validity means?

The fact that nicotine is legal is crazy. Legalization of marijuana will probably increase the welfare state to some degree, but if we could tax the crap out of it to offset said burden, I wouldn't be opposed...

oh validity comes from the word validation.
think of it like this. when you swallow my load and look up into my eyes and i pat you on the head and say "good job" i am validating your oral skills.
