No, you can't. Want to know why? It's called something else. Let me use an example... you get a call for a GSW, can you call it a blood clot because it happens to be a bloody GSW? Doesn't make much sense, does it. Neither does calling cocaine and opiate.Leave a comment:

In medicine, the term opiate describes any of the narcotic opioid alkaloids found as natural products in the opium poppy plant, as well as many semisynthetic chemical derivatives of such alkaloids.
i dont know why you'd call cocaine an opiate, even though the chemical makeups are similar.Leave a comment:

i know you're not calling cocaine an opiate...
either way, associating thc with cardiac arrest is ridiculous. 6 possible cases compared to how many billions of people who've smoked? :roll:Leave a comment:

When I was in my 20s and 30s, it was expected that I was high.
I smoked most every day before my feet hit the floor.
As a stereo installer, I had the drug that the dealers wanted, so I hardly ever bought weed and never ran out. Quality shit, too...so when guys talk about this crap, ain't none of it news to me.Leave a comment:

and thank god for that, my fat ass would have been dead 20 times over before most of you guys were born!
As it is even though it has been 12 years since I smoked, I am STILL glaucoma proof!Leave a comment:

Nobody said marijuana is an opiate, I was referring to cocaine as it was mentioned in the article.
How do you expect to collect complete toxicology data from a patient that skips town? They note in the next sentence that, "the patient failed to attend his outpatient's follow up".
Don't overlook this though, "Bachs and Morland discussed six cases of acute cardiovascular death after cannabis use. The association was confirmed by a positive serum THC toxicology at post-mortem".
No, the other guy did and I got lazy and merged the two insults. Sorry for putting words in your mouth.
Marijuana will not throw you into cardiac arrest of any sort. I'm sorry, there's not a difinitive case study that proves it in any certaintity.Leave a comment:

Oh I'm glad you left this out of your post too, from the article.
"In our case, two facts need to be addressed. Firstly, the cannabis causality was assumed on the result of the positive urine drug screen; hence, a full toxicology screen was not pursued. "
