How many strains of marijuana are there in this world? You realize each strain effects the body in a different way right?
Ive got a history of anxiety, depression, ocd, etc in my family. The first time I smoked, I thought I had won the lottery. I suddenly didnt feel like the world was crashing down on me at age 13 any longer, and my depression and anxiety nearly disappeared. I can also say that Ive smoked different strains that were not geared towards my anxiety, and it made me feel worse. Being able to calm down, focus, and live life not being scared and nervous for no good reason sounds pretty good to me! At least you can buy whatever strain you need in California. Not so lucky in TN, so its a crap shoot to guess what you're getting.

While that is an acceptable reason for using it, its not an acceptable solution. Have you tried medication? Medication isnt illegal, marijuana is.

My point of view is obviously different than most of yours. Most of you will go on to doing whatever career you are after, and you can smoke your weed, have a good time, and you will be fine... assuming it doesnt lead to anything worse. I cant progress to my career path if I have smoked weed within the last TWO years. I guess if it does not hold you back, and limit your success it isnt that bad (I put alcohol right there with it, to be fair). I still dont respect it.

One of my best girl friends growing up (sisters friend), her dad smokes habitually. And always has. He's an engineer for NASA and part time for the government (no clue what he does, he cant talk about it).

Obviously you haven't dealt with too many people on antidepressants. Most of the time you would think they're the ones on drugs. They are usually numb to emotion.

I get the benefits it can have. When I was with one of my girlfriends, she had ADD or ADHD (again, not sure, I think ADHD, though). She was all hyper, couldnt concentrate on anything, etc. She smoked weed with my friends once, and wasnt some sort of stoner loser, but rather finally a normal person, rather than some obnoxious broad. So she went to a doctor, got some meds, and was normal from that point on (I assume, I dont know her anymore).

I have.... My fiance was on them for a couple months after her car accident (it was a bad accident). She was a zombie... but one of my prior GF's who was on them was totally fine. There are also different anti depressants, and those effect different people and different symptoms differently.
