im sure some of our friends on here will say that is just liberal bias
You're way off the mark with that comment. But then anything to try to make conservatives look evil.
This is no doubt a huge disaster...but it's what our President isn't doing about it that's making it worse.

Three days after the Gulf oil rig explosion, the Netherlands offered to send in oil skimmers to pump oil off of the surface of the ocean. The Obama Administration turned them down because they were not 100% efficient and small amounts of oil would be pumped back into the Gulf with the excess water. EPA regulations do not allow for residue water to contain any oil. So rather than use equipment that was not 100% efficient the Obama Administration chose to let all of the oil run into the Gulf.
This is not just bad policy, it is criminal.

You can watch Tony Hayward (BP CEO) getting blasted live, on CNN.com right now.
Dog and pony show.
Hey let's vilify BP even more and get zero progress out of it!

they could have captured all of the oil and then some, but 1% might leak back out so it's no good?
something is fishy there.
Not telling all the truth is not lying.
BTW considering that each set of four days of spill is the equivalent of one Exxon Valdez, then the current catastrophy is more than just a drop in the bucket. I suggest that those who think it's nothing be allowed to move to the Gulf for the next 40 years and have a job that depends on the sea or tourist business.
No doubt. It seems like a round of fuck ups all around. 3 months of it dumping oil and everyone was sitting on their hands. If they want to press criminal charges against the companies, they should charge the politicians with being fucking morons too. Wow.
If the government, thru the Environment Protection Agency, had been pressuring BP from day one, I am 100% sure that the Reps who have been outraged at how the government is interfering with the private sector. So, my point is that if a group wants to smear on another group, there's always something to criticize...
So, what's to do next? Perhaps some much higher safety standards shall be mandated in order not to repeat this catastrophy. Or more drastically, ban all offshore drilling from the US.
the EPA and the FEDs are the soul reason they had to drill in 5k feet of water rather than 500!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The EPA has stood in the way of nearly every preemptive environmental protection method(funny from an agency with environmental and protection as 2/3's of its name huh) and threatened prison time to anyone who violated it will.

Exactly.
