Everyone keeps bringing up that the illegals that "pay" their taxes wont get a refund. The point of paying taxes is not a refund. You are paying for the government services that you use everyday; The roads you drive on, the clinics that your children go to when they are sick, the schools that your kids attend,not to mention paying for housing and care of everyone locked up in prison..(who are predominantly black and Hispanic in California prisons) etc etc.

So if they aren't getting a refund, boo-hoo. Apply it towards the next person here illegally that DOESN'T pay.

Fair enough. I can only speak through what friends of mine and their parents have told me. Mind filling me in on what it takes and how long the whole process took? I've had a friend try and gain citizenship as a young child and every damn time we got a new president in something would change and he couldn't get legal... yet his parents were go figure.

It's a long process, and it gets expensive. I won't deny that, and I'm sure it's hard on people, but the fact of the matter is is that that is the application process that is set in place right now. It's either that or you do not come into this country legally. People can bitch and moan about how the people coming across the border don't have the money/resources and just want to better themselves, but for every one of those border jumpers, there is someone who was in their exact same predicament who became a citizen legally through the application process. Border jumpers are just too lazy to do it.

As for your friend, I know that the parents can go through the whole application process for their children, but as soon as the child turns 18 and they are not citizens yet, they have to restart and do it by themselves. I had to do that.

As for the governement spending money on stupid shit, I'll give you a laundry list of retarded, needless things the governments spends our money on.

We've discussed the income tax and EITC here many times, adding millions of low paying jobs will end up lowering revenues because we have many more people getting even more benefits than they pay for.

Lee, it's obvious you have done no research regarding illegals in America. many school districts across the Southwest are going broke because they can't police illegal/legal in the classroom. Even if the parents are here illegally if the child is born in the country, bang the child is a US citizen and has access to all the benefits of being a citizen, even though their parents aren't paying taxes.

And the employers are a HUGE part of the problem. There should be SEVERE penalties for hiring illegals.
