I happened to marry a women so therefore I get the privileges and benefits that the government chose to give.

and since we (the population) decide the laws of the government, we (the population) chose what to endorse with extra privileges and benefits.

like a few decades ago, blacks couldnt vote. but the population changed that. and a few decades before that, women couldnt vote. but the population changed that too.

i wholeheartedly believe that within the next decade, by 2020, gays will have the right to marry each other. if you just look at this forum, we had what.. 4 adamant opposes and what... a dozen people adamantly defending. and then a whole host more that really dont give a shit one way or the other. it will happen.

Blacks were given the right to vote in the 1870's and women got the right to vote in the 1920's. It was sooner in some states, but I am speaking of US constitional ammendments granting the right nationwide.
