I'll dismiss it pretty easily. If gays have equal rights because they can marry someone of the opposite sex, then so do straight people because they can marry someone of the same sex. We are not giving gays more rights than straight people. Laws allowing same sex marriages aren't all of a sudden going to strip people of the right to opposite sex marriages. They also aren't going to just lock someone in to a sexual preference for life. This is about ANYONE having the right to marry someone of either sex should they choose to. If they want to get a divorce and then switch teams that's alright too. Same sex marriage laws are NOT discriminatory and will expand freedom of marriage for EVERYONE. Yes Joshh, same sex marriage laws will even grant YOU the right to marry a dude should you choose to. Stop looking at this whole thing like it is somehow us vs. them.

Also, your slippery slope argument about fathers marrying their sons and mothers marrying their daughters is completely false and will NEVER EVER HAPPEN. Just completely forget about the sexual element of this for a second. This is about recognizing two people as part of a civil union under the law. That means granting same sex couples the same tax breaks, visitation rights, inheritance, etc. as opposite sex couples AND FAMILY MEMBERS. Fathers and sons, mothers and daughters already share these rights because they are FAMILY and recognized as such under the law.

All this mumbo jumbo about marriage being a spiritual union between a man and a woman, and all the sexual shit that goes along with it is all just a religious idea which is completely independent of lawful marriage in this country. This is a secular country so all of this is meaningless to a judge signing marriage papers.

Why no incest? Because it jacks up the gene pool and their kids will be born looking like the royal family? Is it a health and safety issue? Gay men are transmitting aids at an accelerated rate, yet no one is stopping them (and their promiscuity would not change if they were given the option of marriage. You are either monogamous or your aren't). So why wont you allow incest? Just cause it's yucky? :p

the article by redstate is blown out of proportion, I read the bill they referenced and all it does it have the state code of conduct mirror the federal hate crime wording. Again, propaganda.

I read the fox news report but can not find anything else about the school boards decision or any law changes for that matter.
